That is what is officialy allowed so i guess the tire has to survive it when pressure is ok, wear may be drastic when you ride at that speed for longer durations.
Glad to know that .. do you have a price comparison between Metzeler and Heidenau? .. I'm using a Metzeler rear 140-80-18 Sahara Enduro (Brazil) and a Heidenau front 90-90-21 Scout K60 (Germany)
Cheers,
Roberto

Oh

forget what i have just said, the 21/18 tire combinations are a entirely different thing, for them you schould keep in mind that there is no stock bike as heavy as the s10 that runs these tires. They are usually engineered for bikes that are much lighter.

You better check the expiriences of the 990 Adv folks with these tires and powerful heavy bikes.

But the prices including taxes are Heidenau (front/rear) 61,18 € / 90,46 € Metzeler 73,77 € / 90,21 €.

Hi everyone ... riding the beast on sand or mud is a challenge so I adapted my ROC Stompa steering dampener and the result is wonderful ... even Pluric can ride the Dakar with it ..although the front is 21 and the rear 18

Cheers,
Thagua

Short summary; the Tenere and I 'clicked' all weekend, and together we shocked the hell out of the other riders I think. On twisty pavement; 0 chicken strips left front or rear on the K60's. Dirt and gravel, in TC2 we friggin rocked! What a blast! Controlled ABS sliding into corners, power sliding out of corners, wheelying off hills, and jumping anything jumpable. In the end... the crap I could do on this bike made me feel like superman; it was amazing.
Nice Photoshop exercise.

Everybody knows the Super Tenere is a streetbike.

Too heavy for off-road.
Can't turn ABS off.
Gutless motor down low.

Yeah, who does he think he's fooling? He doesn't even have a full roll-cage around his engine in case a pebble hits the glass sump!

lol
