Texas...
Quote:
150 miles straight up the coast from Mexico at Brownsville - in Corpus Christi, TX. It's also about the same distance nearly due east of Laredo. Gotta' be honest, though. Given your route mentioned above there really are two spots in Texas you shouldn't miss. One is Big Bend. September is still a bit early as it will still be pretty friggin' *HOT*, but the entire Big Bend area is simply indescribable in both its beauty and isolation. Ton of great dirt road riding there, too, with terrific camping spots. Google it some. It's definitely worth your while. The other, as mentioned before, is the Texas Hill Country. Where else can you find some of the country's best road riding, dirt road exploration riding, and an outstanding vintage motorcycle museum specializing in Brit iron and run by an Aussie, all in the same place? The "Lone Star Motorcycle Museum" is in Vanderpool, right in the middle of some of the best riding and scenery in all of Texas, and they even serve great Aussie meat pies! Here's some links that may help you a bit, especially these first two... The guy has some terrific rides guides for both Big Bend and the Texas Hill Country, an his maps of Big Bend are even better: http://texasadventure.net/ http://texasadventure.net/cool-stuff/ride-guides https://sites.google.com/site/texasdualsportroads/ http://www.lonestarmotorcyclemuseum.com/ http://www.lonestarloops.com/ http://www.friocanyonmotorcyclestop.com/ There's lots of other resources, but maybe those will whet your appetite a bit! What it sounds like we need to do is arrange a ride get-together in the Texas Hill Country to greet you when you get down here! ![]() OTOH, if you want to come over and visit the Texas Gulf Coast it'll be great, too. The riding isn't nearly as good, but the view and the food makes up for it... Dallara ~

The tent is a brand new Australian Oztent that leaked like a friggin sieve when we first got it. Had to glue up the seams. Hope the owner of Oztent is on this forum so he knows what a POS his £1000 tent is (no reply to my E-mails !). Fixed now though. We bought it to take to Africa with the Land Rover in 2014. We trailer the bike around so the bike has only about 8k miles on it so far, but they have been quality heavy duty ones. I've wrecked two bash plates so far. Last month I went out mountain road scratching with some sports bikes in Northern Spain and used half of my TCK80 in 2 days. I have to say, the sports bike guys were very surprised at the Yams performance and I am not a fast road rider by a long way. Living the dream... |

You have a whole hard drive full of this stuff don't you? .
All cataloged and tagged into a database. You don't stack BB's at all. Your jig is up.
