108mph on the speedo! But since I'm from the chilly NW , I noticed the sunshine and the ambient temp hovering at 84!

108 on the speedo, and 102 on the GPS. My speedo is off more than that; you're about 6% off, mine's about 8%... plus my K60's do not like those speeds, no way I could take a picture. I get a wobble starting about 95 (indicated) and it gets worse the faster I go.

Actually the speedo error on mine is more like 8%, too... It just takes some time for the GPS to update going slightly uphill or downhill. I had pretty much cinched the Excel Werkes throttle-lock down at a GPS indicated 100 MPH, which is usually 108 on the speedo, and cruised that way for miles and miles. It's just happened that at the point I took the picture at that sign the speedo/GPS showed 108/102.

I'm running the standard Metzler Tourance EXP's, and my S-10 is rock-solid regardless of speed, and that's with the forks slid up in the triple clamps 0.60" for more steering precision and quicker turn-in. I do have the forks re-worked by Stoltec with different springs and Penske valving, and have a Penske shock out back, however. Best money I ever spent on the bike... Helps it everywhere - off-road, in the twisties, and even just cruising down the highway because the compliance is so much better than stock.

On this trip I had the bags fully loaded up but nothing else onboard. Was stable as a rock, and there were times I had the throttle-lock set with the GPS at 110. Lousy fuel mileage at those speeds, though... Instantaneous MPG showed 20 MPG most of the time at 100 or above.

That's Garmin for ya'...

Installed the latest Garmin map update just last Thursday, and it *STILL* doesn't know that a Texas highway SH-130 even exists yet.

Was fun, though, to watch the poor Garmin "logic" try to figure out what to do, and where to go, to get me to my destination. Poor thing thought I was riding "off pavement" the whole time!!!

One thing is great about SH-130, Pluric... There's no *SAND*!!!

Honestly, I have no idea... Got a pair (one each side) for '06 Yamaha FJR1300 from somebody back when I had that sled. Took 'em off when I sold the bike and tossed 'em in my spares bin. When I got the S-10 I just happened to notice that the front brake master cylinder reservoir was essentially the same as the FJR's, and the RAM-ball cap fit perfectly.

My only guess is to search the FJR forums and hope somebody there still posts about 'em.

Did find this doing a quick Google search, though...

That's why the Tenere has the nice tucked in smaller bags some people complain about.

Thanks!! I have one of those from MCL for my other bike, and I did look at MCL's site, but would not have thought about the FJR fitting the S10. Thanks for the tip!

I believe that is SH 130, which is a new toll road that runs parallel to I35 around Austin. It is the first of many planned roads to have the 85mph limit.

Yes, indeed as has been mentioned, it is SH-130, the entirety of which runs roughly between Seguin and Georgetown, TX, skirting the outrageously congested I-35 corridor from San Antonio through Austin and northward.

You can find out much more information here: http://mysh130.com/

And there are a bunch of highways in West Texas with 80 MPH limits, and most of those will have 85 MPH limit signs within the next year or so.
