I thought the same thing about the stock crash bars I went with the rumbux top that attaches to the bottom protects the sides also. ERICV on the forum 435-817-0809 is getting another order together they are AWESOME.

I wore the shirt specially for Pluric...hehe he.

Whats with the OEM Crashbars? great engine protection but the top part wont protect the fairing. Waste of weighted steel to me.

More pics on the way with just the bike and not the goofy dude.

Love the bike so far. No vibe issue for me.

Those look good a little more places to hang stuff than the rumbux upper I bought to resolve the side coverage or lack there of

Anyway, you could mod the Yamaha bars if you like. These are my modded Yam ones, made before any aftermarket ones were available. My mods are a bit OTT but I am now hanging panniers from them. A single bar will do the trick and as it all comes off in one piece, (except the cross bar,) you can weld the base to the loop without worrying about the bolt/joint.

Sorry for re-posting these old pics but this is a BIG thread.

More photos as requested.

I have had quite a few requests to show some more images of my setup.

So here we go, with and without the OEM black panniers and box. Touratech adjustable windscreen bracket and TomTom Rider GPS mount. Yamaha Touring kit. Givi crash bars, Front mudguard extender and the Worldcrosser decal set in yellow.

The bike will not be used for any off road riding, so this set up is for touring around Europe on the roads, taking camera and camping gear.

I'm leaving for a slab ride today. Some of it will be on a concrete freeway.
I'm a little nervous because I know they use sand in concrete.

Jaumev, Kudos to you for trying that. I think I'd rather have to lick GrahamD's
red hot exhaust pipe than ride in that shit.

Those pics are incredible, Jaumev! You are, most definitely, Da' Man!

And I love that last pic! All that hard work and still a sense of humor, too!

A man and his bike have to take a rest once in a while

Best picture for sure

You are nuts taking this lump into sand like that

I hope you don't mind, this picture deserves to be in my Google+ Yamaha community

I will link it to this post here.
