Mr. Bill Gates figured out how to get his program on every computer without the hassle of dealing with selling to john q. public, sell it to the builder of the computer. People bought the computer and never even thought about having a choice as to what OS.

When I spoke with AF-1 they couldn't do the Gen 2 update. So I sent mine to
ECUnleashed for the update. I shouldn't complain because they don't charge for it
but their customer service SUCKS. Not a single response to emails, no number to call.
Tracking confirmation it was delivered a while ago and not a word of what's going on.

AF-1 was fantastic to work with.
Hi Pluric,

Clearly I cannot go to a dealer to get my Gen 2 upgrade so I ask, where exactly did you send your ECU to ?

I may be passing there and get it done on the spot. Obviously in my currently traveling situation I cannot send it off.

I will also email them but that seems like a waste of time !!!

It is the good nature of the Yamaha riders that they risk allowing a liability to ride with them and the BMW rider is riding with the Yams as it gives him a measure of reassurance for when his bike packs up.

I sent mine to:

ECUnleashed Tuning Technology
8209 Foothill Blvd, Suite #A122
Sunland, CA 91040

Have no idea how to get a hold of them to confirm if they will do it on the spot.
They don't return emails and right now I regret sending them my ECU for the update.

If you are going to be in Texas I would go with these guys. Fantastic to work
with and did Snakebitten's bike while he waited.... on a Sunday!

Not to obvious, just enough to make it recognizable and the red/white fit nicely with the existing blue.
If I was from the US and I had the blue one, I would copy/adapt the idea, because I think it really compliments the bike.
(the helmet, ehm ...... not so nice)
You won't get any "hate" from me. But, you will get a small piece of info on our flags. That ain't the U.S. flag!

That's the Texas Flag. The "Lone Star State". And believe me, there are a lot of Americans that don't get our enamor with our state or our flag. :)

We even made sure it was legal to fly our flag side by side with "Old Glory" at the same height on a second pole. (not lower)

Lesson over. :)

Thanks for the nice words though.

You didn't ask, but the magnetic tank protectors are helmets from the mighty Texas A&I university Javelinas.
My son attends & plays.

All true. But please note I still needed to fill out the web form on the AF1 website so that AF1 (Ed) could get the proper file created and sent to him from unleashed. Ed asks for 24-48 hours to accommodate this process.

The whole doing it on a Sunday is a reflection on what kind of person you are doing business with. (Thank you Dallara for introducing me to Ed)

Old git, New Braunfels is a spot worthy of visiting regardless. Charming part of Texas. And right on your way to the Alamo! :)

It's simply a state of mind. It's official.

Picked this 2012 up back on the 25th of April. Clocked a bit over 1k so far and loving it. Headed up to Northern Wisconsin soon to get it dirty. Added some protection, a taller windscreen and a Yosh RS4 so far.

I drove by there thinking I could schedule to get the ECU upgrade done on the spot and it turned out to be a Mail Boxes Etc. type of place. If it is your first ECU flash and you are passing through Texas I would go to AF-1 Racing and have Ed do it. If it's a Gen-1 to Gen-2 upgrade then it looks like you will have to send it in and wait.

AF-1 does not do the upgrade. The new reflash will have the upgrade already. I thought
you had never had a reflash so AF-1 would be fine to use. As mentioned give them a heads
up so they can have the program ready.

Now as a public apology to ECUnleashed... I'm sorry. I've been boobing about their lack of communication
and the fact I had not heard anything on my ECU sent in 2 weeks ago. I came home from work today
and it was on my porch. I feel like a shit heel for complaining about a free upgrade.

Now for the good stuff, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I really liked the original reflash. As I've always said
not a night and day OMG difference just a very nice combination of perfect feeling jetting and a modest
performance increase. This new reflash reminds me of what the Europeans claimed when they had the
reflash done. Very noticeable performance jump! Tour mode and Sport mode finally have a reason to exist.
I've never used the Tour mode and now can see a reason to. It was a short test around the neighborhood
and I never got above 4th gear. I can tell you I was grinning a lot. I need to do an extended test. It almost felt
like it gave up a little under 3K above 3k better be paying attention. I've removed the clutch mod. No stall or hiccup.

Still grinning typing this.

I know there have been some skeptics and stuck to how happy they are with how their stock bike runs.
All I can say is you don't have a clue what it's capable of with just a simple ECU tweaking.

I know I've said this class of bike isn't about raw performance or high horsepower, buuuutttt it is fun to
find out what untapped potential is sitting under you. Now where is that GS that gave me an ass whooping?
