Hi Guys,

Sorry no I haven't bought the Trax side panniers! At this stage I only need the topbox!

Question Width of side bags?

Fredz,
Can you tell me how wide the panniers are from side to side? Hard to tell from the pic but they look wide. Are they wider than the bars? Looks good by the way in black. Much prefer to the raw aluminum.

I will put the bags back on tonight and measure them and report. One of our customers got the same setup in aluminum and he just ran the 37L bags on both sides with the same SW-Motech racks and it looked good and would be a bit narrower if width is a concern.

One thing I like about the SW-M setup is if you are not using the bags, you can remove them and the racks in less than a minute.

I prefer the black also. I had my SW-M skid plate powder coated black to go along with the black bags, bars, etc.

I will say though that we sold a Raven Super Tenere with the aluminum bags on yesterday and it looked very good also. I guess this bike looks good in any trim.

When you measure your bike could you let me know if it's the same distance from the center of the bike?

I want them balanced, someone suggested using same 37? on both sides but wouldn't that be unbalanced?

I haven't decided if I'm going Micatech or Trax, like the look of both and I think side opening is very useful too

Thanks for the into

I did measure from centerline to outside of the bags when I first put them on a couple days ago. It was something like 1/2 ito 3/4 inch more on the 45L side, very close to symmetrical. On the bike we sold with two 37's, yes, they were unbalanced, but still looked good. I would have to remeasure to get an exact difference, but I know that it was in that range and I was satisfied with that.

If you look at the pic from the front, you can see that it looks even on both sides, with the 37 and 45.

That was quick

Yea, I looked at the photo from the center and it does look good and symmetrical.

I'm still torn between these and the Micatechs

Can you post a picture from behind and let me know what the total width is?

I ordered the Altrider bash plate and crash bars in black, they are on the way

I'm thinking of the Micatechs in all black for my black bike

Yes you did

Sorry, it's the age and the excitement

Thanks, I'm comparing pictures now, but the Mica's seem to be lower to the ground or is it my impression?
