SWMBO is scoping out a creek crossing. Exit is about 50 m upstream, so baled and managed to scramble back up the first 50 m solo with TC off. She walked up that bit. K60 is crap, no more for me, unless they're free, maybe.

I'm lucky enough to run a trip in my big rig up in that area every once in a while. Always drooling over all the enticing moto routes. Was up between Petosky and Alpena on 23 just wishing i had something to 2wheel on.

Glad to see somebody else with that opinion. Seems like a lot of people love em. My dr650 came with one on the rear and i hated it. I've got a tkc just waiting to pop on the tenere.

I don't like 'em either. Pretty poor grip onroad and not that stellar off. Also square off relatively quickly so had to change them even with some tread left.

Loving my Tenere at this point. Break in service is due and the engine is starting to free up nicely. I will be chronicling a build on RideApart.com featuring many accessories and talking about the new ES version.

Loved them onroad but scary as hell as soon as it gets wet. Mitas 07 behave the same way so don't try them either if you hated the heidies. Though the Mitas is better offroad due to the absence of the center strip :o)

The K60 has no dry road grip either, TC1 kicks in all the time. E07 under the same stress is fine. The K60 also wears flat quickly and steering suffers. I prefer the look of the E07 profile. Time will tell how it wears. Considering that they are a fair bit cheaper here than the K60 too, they seem a no brainer to me.

What's wet?

YMMV however

It has a purpose in life and that purpose is long life, steady touring, at which it does very well. It is crap at most other things and I have now put some proper tires on my bike but when I go long distance touring again I will likely put K60s back on. It is a VERY HARD tyre.

My last set of TCKs, which were fantastic, only lasted 3000 miles.

The K60s I have just taken off have over 17,000 miles on them. To be fair they are f**ked but still UK legal. Below is a track of the last pairs use.

Mine is flat in the middle at 5,500 kms, so still nearly 5 mm rubber till its actually bald. 2 mm here is the legal limit. So even if somehow I stretched it to 10,000 kms, I've got absolutely no idea how yours could go over 20,000 kms, let alone 27,000 kms, it just seems like the stuff of dreams.

But, 5,000 kms for tyres on bikes for me is pretty good. The equation on my gone but not forgotten ZX9R was 3,000 kms and $300 for rear tyres. Fronts would stretch to almost 5,000 kms.

So FWIW, I won't use a K60 again, but that'll leave more for those that like them. I'm not trying to have a slanging match here, just offering my opinion. Its the internet afterall, and we all have them Its why I had to try a K60 for myself, because there are numerous diverse opinions about them out there, and now I've offered mine. (Maybe their quality control is a bit variable? I know Mitas' can be, and why I wasn't sure I wanted them on the S10 either)

My Anakee 3s outlasted my K60s by more than double. I got about 6,000 miles out of the Scouts before they squared off and the grip got really scary in the wet. The Anakee front lasted 8,700 miles, the rear 12,500 miles and the profile stayed decent till the end.
