ok

well, i think i've thoroughly covered the lurking thing well, so here's a photo of mine to maybe get me into the water a bit. i just really love riding, the vast majority of it by myself.

anyway, i finally got this knucklehead, my dream bike, finished up and road legal back in May, and have been slowly getting it "shook down" and settled in. beginning to build a very long relationship, and already absolutely love this thing. it's loud, rough, marks its territory everywhere it goes, and it just absolutely pisses me off to have to stop riding it for whatever reason.

take care,
-dan

That's a sweet looking bike but one thing I've always wondered about hardtails - aren't they horrible for your back?

That's a nice little find you have there, UP. Harley got my attention at last when they released that bike. If I were in the market to buy another bike, I would have to give one of those serious consideration.

If you don't mind me asking, what was the offer?? The local dealership here is advertising left-over '09s for $7,995.

to look at them, you would think so; but in all honesty, i was really surprised when i rode this bike for the first time. it rides much better than the Honda Shadow Ace 400 i have which has full suspension on the rear. this bike is really pretty darned smooth. of course i can't speak for others' setups, but i'll ride the heck out of it this way (and no, by no means do i consider myself "hardcore" or anything).

thanks for all the kind words, folks. as much as possible, i built everything on it myself, from the forks, to the oil tank; from the foot controls, to the handlebars. the paint was done by me and a buddy late at night in his paint booth taking turns at it and talking it over as we went. the striping was done by a friend who i consider to be the best darned striper in Japan, Sugisack. now i'm just trying to put as many miles on it as i have a chance to.

thanks, folks! now i'm gonna go see what Doug has been up to.
