why is the noise ok for the burbs but not out in the country?

Thank you, I admire your honesty.

Maybe I'm being stupid (won't be the first or last time) but am I missing something here? Didn't mention anything about the noise and its suitability to urban or rural exposure.

All I stated is that, yes, it is loud (no louder than a pair of SEII slip-ons though, and to my ears it's a much nicer noise - less harsh) and that when riding in heavy traffic, something I have to do on a fairly regular basis, its volume allows me to be heard by the myopic f*ckwits who occupy the driver's seat of the large number of 4-wheeled vehicles in our metropolis.
