Hey Freud, can you go into some detail regarding the aux lights? I'm in need of something for my XR.. Like price, electrical drain, where you can buy them, etc?

Thanks!

Sure

These lights are Hella's Micro DE, the ballasts are the same used on many cars from VW and audi if i remember correctly, you can get them on ebay or at you local hella store.

The light output is as good as it gets gor 35w each given that they are incandescent, you can swap the bulbs for 55w ones, but it may be too much drain for the bike.

The mounts are intended to be used on turn signal relocations, you could look up for "turn signal rellocation kit" The ballasts come with a hole but no thread, they have a bolt that drills it's own thread, in my case I dug a wider whole and made the thread for a bigger bolt. The lights seem to be ballanced so a single bolt can bee ok, i have it like that. The mount is aluminum and the front seems to be a ceramic.

Price: ca. $150 for the lights and $20
for the mounts.

If i were to get auxiliary lights right now, I would buy 10w denalis from twisted throttle, as the prices are resonable now ($250 for a pair), the light output may be better and the power drain is less than a half.

Here is a front view. It's a 10' Harley Windsplitter windshield. Little wider at the bottom. Less buffeting as standard. Had it left from previous Street Glide. There it was a great benefit.

What made you go from a Street Glide to the Ultra? I just went from an'07 Road Glide to a 2013 Street Glide and I added hard vented lowers and a king quick detach tour-pak. I like your color choice!

I wanted to buy a Electra Glide in the first place. But when I came to the dealer I was blinded by the Street Glide. The suspension in the rear was bad for my suffering back. The seat was not comfy for my wife and dealer service was poor. They screwed up so many things that I lost my trust in the bike and was very unhappy with it. It was not the right bike and I should have bought what I had planned. After 1 year, I did the right thing and got the Ultra. I lost a lot of money, but I'm a happy man again. Here is a picture of "Snow White". She lives in Austria now. Hopefully the new owner is happy. He made a bargain.

Yes the ride quality of the Ultra is much better than the SG for sure. I almost bought an ultra limited and it will probally be my next bike!

Still enjoying the Slim. Had to take it in to get the TPS (throttle position sensor) replaced under warranty. Funny thing to fail.

Anyway, a long ride today through Amish country and along the Susquehanna river.
