Must be part of your super-secret double-naught spy work with your low-level FEMA clearance and (snicker) Texas Security License, yes?

It's more important to have your pin slightly in front of the axle though. You can use a slider hitch, or just be careful when turning/backing if you can't meet your cab/pin clearance.

If you have a 8' wide is would be 50" or so.
The way things fell into place on mine put the pin a few inches behind the axle.

It was slightly ahead of the axle on my pickup and I wanted to keep it that way on this thing but it wasn't possible with the axle placement and cab position.
I don't think this will be a problem as the rear suspension can easily handle the weight of the camper.

I suppose I could've moved the axle further back but my original plan was to use the existing floor and structure for the bed and supports would've conflicted with the axle.

As long as there is enough weight on the front axle and there is enough capacity in the rear axle you should be fine.

Now the fun part begins.

Putting the panels on the bed is the most rewarding part of this project so far.

Like the last few pieces of a puzzel.

Since I don't have a metal brake I had to get creative to get the bends I wanted.

WOW! I just skimmed through all 52 pages so far. Based on the first sight of the rig I was thinking "wtf is this guy going to hobble together..." but you have done an extremely awesome job. I could totally see myself driving something like this. Keep up the great craftsmanship!

I managed to get the last of the panels cut out tonight and temporarily mounted in place.

The garage is too dark for good pictures but hopefully over the weekend I'll get the wheels back on and get it outside again.

For now the plastic coating will stay on the panels to keep me from scratching them up.
