Ash Fork ride-continue ...
A lot of trails were closed with locks with no trespassing signs on, so my plan is now to improvise but keep my GPS heading were it suppose to go NEN with good sense of direction .
This trail wind up to a water with bunch of cattle and it ended . ![]() Wnen i say trail ended it does not mean that we turned around we hit what some call a "No Trail trails" zone . A wide open plains, a desolate land. We cut throu this desolate land to avoid taking Espee rd all around . http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.079308&z=14 We end up here ... http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...,0.158615&z=13 We end up on that trail, we came from behind that fence where Levio & Tom are standing . ![]() After long 38 miles of quick open dirt rd (Wilaha county rd)we got to our next stage from Wilaha to Anita rd right along z rail rd . ![]() Z road there are so much fun but must be carefull not to hit a rut @ considerable speed, there a lot of ruts on that one and lot of gates to open & close .

What a LONG ride!
That was my first real DS ride on my new to me xr650. It's a handfull in the technical stuff but not too bad. I had a great time except for those last 40+ miles of street heading home. This probably won't sound "right" but my rearend was killing me! I need a different seat on the Honda. I wicked it up bit toward the end so I could get off the bike sooner. Great meeting Eddie, Levio, and the MACHINE Tom! I hope I can still ride as good as you in my 70's.. Great ride and great people. Hope to do it again soon!! Tom what was the name of the seat you had on your bike?? |

The stock seat on a XRR is tough on the butt if u sit very long. I put a Corbin on my XRR and have been really happy with it. I'll be over for the GC loop ride in 2 weeks if u want to check it out. The only down side is it's a little spendy to buy a Corbin, well worth it IMHO but spendy none the less. One good thing is when u order, a custom cover is no extra charge.

It was a much better than expected ride. What a day and nice Ride.
Tom you are my inspiration. It was Nice to ride with Tom, vburgh and Eddie. We did only half of the anticipated ride. I left at 5:30am and return 315 miles later at 10:30pm. We saw some Antelopes, wild horses, wild donkeys, Giant Ants, etc... Waiting for the next Ride North where is cooler. |
