Did the road keep going straight on the GPS? Just curious if this is another case of a road getting closed unexpectedly. So hard to have up to date map info up here.
Track went right but it split off the main and they closed the straight route. even if the corner was made the drop and rutted sand hill would have been hell!

I locked up front and rear and skidded 20 feet right behind him and I rode the track a week before

The section just before that is sweet and we where flying on it, where we going too fast? maybe! but that's the fun of it

Fab your more than welcome to meet a day or three earlier . New Brunswick and a day in the Gaspe is on the menu before our meet time

As for me leaving early, I think I am going to need each and every day to heal.

I think Ted took the best of the three options...
Taking the berm on a 500lb bike couldn't be good.

If he actually made the corner at the speed they were going, there were huge ruts on the hill around the bend. Taking the ruts at 40-50 mph would of been a huge pucker moment. If he went down there, there were 5 to 25 pound boulders on that hill. I'm sure those would hurt way more.

So taking the dirt just before either of those, I think is the better Heal well Ted.

Great ride!

Thanks for letting a slow fat guy tag along on Saturday. It was a fantastic ride, even with Ted's wipe out ( Who hasn't? ) and a 2 hour tube change under a blistering sun. ( Who hasn't? ) We were the talk of that town!

Denis and I went for a tour up there again today and we are thinking a day ride / camp out would be fun. The place is a paradise for dual sports and it needs to be explored more. Thinking end of August ..ish... Anyone interested?

Feel better Ted.

Sounds interesting, bugs might be gone, but maybe a little later in the year to see Fall colours?

I have to keep the same "away days" window. So, for now we will still meet in Percé. Can't wait.

I was riding a route here in Vermont last summer...riding solo. I scanned the road ahead which appeared smooth so I kept on the throttle and looked down to check the gps. I looked up a second later to see the water bar I had overlooked.....could only hold on tight and hit it full on. It kicked me right off the seat....feet were about 3 feet off the pegs. luckily I landed back on the bike and didnt crash but it still hurt.

Manxman you kill me with those pics.

Born in Trail and every time I see pics like that I spend too much time trying to figure out what I'm doing in the hot humid east.

Too hell with kids and ex wives, I should bail out and ride the Rockies forever
