March Death Valley Noobs Ride Communications (HAM, GSRM, etc)
Okay folks, post up here if you want the world to get to know you.
Since I"m coordinating the ham radio aspect I"ll start. Official repeater: 146.900 - Offset, PL tone 123.0 This is a store-and-forward repeater. When you complete your transmission it will play it; in other words you get to hear yourself every time. Official simplex: 146.585. I will not be actively monitoring the radio as I do not have a wired helmet. I intend to check in when we come to stops, eat lunch, etc. I'm in spot 40 and will be the guy at PSR with the motorcycle. If anybody is running GSRM, smoke signals, or telepathy feel free to share. My call is KJ6KVL although I doubt I'll be using it too much since we'll be on our own frequencies.

Thanks for creating the thread and for setting up the repeater!
I'll be in camp site #72. Planning to ride with the handheld and monitor the simplex and repeater frequencies. Just got the throat mic and remote PTT, so looking forward to seeing how well it works. Steve KK6CSQ |

I am running the HT Mountain through Hidden Valley loop out to pavement via Ubehebe in the 4x4. I THINK I will have a radio in the truck and will listen if I do while on that loop until I hit pavement. By then I think I will be out of the range of the repeater due to topography. If help is needed along that route (I plan to leave camp bout 830ish) most of the bikes should be ahead of me. Use my screen name DSM8 that will suffice as my call sign. OR MINSKY either one will work
