Or just to see the big picture, and write on. Even on Google Maps, with a big monitor, you zoom out too far, and you loose all the minor roads.

BTW, for writing on these maps, I like grease pencils, which can also be called china pencils, maybe even wax pencils. I found one at the hardware store, though I'm fairly certain you can find them at arts and craft places.

Caved into the peer pressure and took advantage of the sale ! At least I know "Santa" will leave me at least one gift I want. A question about the sales tax. Do I still get zinged in Canada after being charged the tax down there or is one of those things that get sorted out behind the scenes ? Thanks for the option to ship USPS. Its the only way it works for shipping up here.

While I may be GPS enabled, nothing beats a good map for route planning and organization. I hope enough people pick up maps so we can see you guys put editions for OR and WA state, and perhaps even BC.

Ride safe out there!
thanks! those 3 places are all on the radar.

I didn't see any place to enter the code as I tried to place my order.

Ride from Arizona to Idaho on Utah's best unpaved roads on the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route (UTBDR) using this high-quality synthetic map from Butler Motorcycle Maps.

The UTBDR is a mostly off-road route stretching from Southern Utah to the Idaho border. The South to North route winds through remote deserts, dense pine forests and dramatic canyons. The roads include dirt, gravel, and pavement surfaces, and may include rocks, sand, mud, and snow depending on the time of year and conditions. There are several alternate sections of the route that include more difficult terrain as well as options that become passable earlier in the season. The route is designed from South to North, and is much easier in that direction.

The front of the map features the entire state of Utah with major roads, and the highlighted UTBDR route with beginning and end points. Each segment of the route is blown up into a detailed view on the back of the map. The backside also features valuable information on fuel stops, food, lodging, weather info, and points of interest along the way. Bar-codes throughout the map can be scanned with a smart phone to play videos of the route.

Done and done!

Just ordered up the Washington Backcountry discovery route, and Rocky Mountain collection! Can't wait to get them and check them out! Get my trips planned for spring!

On a side note, I'd also be very interested in Washington, Oregon, and Nor Cal maps. Sold already. Just need the maps to buy!

Thanks again!

nor cal is getting closer, but the shear volume of roads is taking A LOT longer than we anticipated. add to that the BDR work and Cycle World article work we've been doing and you get the idea. OR & WA state are very much in the near plans, but i have no idea when.

after nor cal., i'm not sure if it's OR, WA, AZ or NM next?

Selfishly? I'd love to see NM next.

I ordered some stuff the night before Thanksgiving Day. Today, as I pull up my drive, doing my best Arlo Guthrie impression, but only managing to pull in at 90, I noticed not a pickle, but a cardboard tube.

Huh?

RIGHT! It's my wall-art!

Guess that means I should check the mailbox, perhaps there is more than just bills in today.:ponder:

: Thanks for the quick delivery (MidwayUSA, you listening? :), they shall join my well-worn Hill Country map on in the book case, and be constant torment until such time as I can do more than dream about such roads. :rider:
