Running in a new GSA

Wonderful bike! Congratulations. Spent two weeks in April on Oahu and the Big Island. Driving around in a crappy rental cage wishing I had my bike.
Enjoy going around in circles. Change direction occasionally to wear the tires evenly. :-)
Yes, I want a GS more than anything. 800, 1200, 800...dunno right now.

I'm moving to Maui at end of August ... and you made me thinking: May be it's not bad idea to bring my R1150GS with me?

I didn't ride for a couple of years after I moved here, after many years of riding. I have a 20 mile (40 round trip) commute that I simply endured every day. Thought about moving closer to work to reduce the commute time.

Then, I started riding again and it transformed the trip --- often the best part of the day. I had put over 60,000 miles on several bikes on the Big Island, mostly commuting, and had the same experience. Every day is a delight, rain or shine. When it was a very nice day in the car, it was a spectacular, breathtaking day on a bike.

So ---
There are a number of places to ride on Maui, but it is an island. There are only a few roads on Maui where the GSA can stretch its legs. So far, it claims my average speed is 42 mph over 1100 miles on the odometer.

For me ... I need to be on a bike and I like the one I have. My mental state suffers if I can't ride. I would (and did) arrange to be on two wheels one way or another.
