Tiger values seem to be down, at least in my area (San Diego, CA). There is a dealer nearby that's had a 2012 Tiger 800XC, stock except a center stand, 5,000 miles, $8000, and in three months at that price, they've been unable to move it.

Maybe this dealership is also noticing the softness in the Tiger market and is willing to take what they can get to move the bike.

Sounds like a private seller, not a dealer. Still sounds shady and adding to that with an out of country buyer, things could get really difficult quickly.

Still in-demand in the UK. Dealers allegedly finding it hard to keep bikes in stock.

Of course over here it has become the patriotic ADV beastie, so that is probably a factor.

On the bright side, this bike is so hot you won't need to install heated grips.

The ED09's are the knobbies - the GS guys like them real well. They come from the Canadian importer, MX1 or whatever. Let us know if you need a link to their site.

My issue is the $55 to ship their tires here. Otherwise they seem to be good tires. Some of the 50/50 guys have been using and like the ED07.

I'm pretty confident the deal is legit, it was on eBay but didn't make reserve so I contacted him made deal off eBay he had good feedback on eBay and his phones numbers and emails worked as they should.
He reported he took it on trade that's how he ended up with it.
Hoping it works out with no BS

Had one lined up a month ago for $4,500 but too much was off with the deal so I bailed

You mean Mitas E07? Canadain only for now, higher shipping, but rumors are a 48 state dealer is in the works. I may try a rear then. I love my TKC80 front and won't change it.

So this isn't tiger specific. But this is where I lurk. So here goes. I have had my bike apart for going on 5 months. And was curious if I should drain the gas. In it. Before running it. I had put heat in it when I tore it apart And there is maybe a 1/4 tank in it. If I am to drain it. What would be the best method ?

If it was taken in on trade and enough time has passed to list it on eBay, why no title?

You know I didn't like to say but when I first saw the original post it screamed SCAM. Hope I'm wrong and he gets a good bike.

I would syphon it out. What little fuel is left in there will mix with fresh stuff when you've finished whatever it is you're doing and get burnt off.

The other method, so long as it has a fuel pump, would be to connect a tube onto the outlet sticking out of the tank and turn the ignition on.

Hi,Bryan
What I understand he is a smaller used car lot that takes in the used trades from the larger new car dealers, He had said they made him take the bike to get other cars in his lot. I also understand he received it and put it on eBay right away, which didnt bring reserve price of $7,800 only had $6300 high bid.
I offered him $ 7,350 he got back to me a few days later and took the offer.

I'm not sure when he or the dealer he got it from paid out the lien, he simply said a payment notice or something like that ? Was sent in to triumph financing for release, He expected clear title in 1-2 weeks.

I do know sometimes things don't move as fast as we would like, Maybe they held off paying till they had a firm offer as to not tie up additional money ?

Thanks all for the caution, I will keep my fingers crossed but I'm 95% sure it legit.
