I really like the pictures, the Alaskan scenery is just amazing, it's like northwest of Sweden but with bigger mountains, bigger bears and taller trees. I bet the mosquitos are bigger and more bloodthirsty too! Below is a picture from Sweden, I was on a fishing trip and had quite a view. It has nothing to do with the Dalton though... |

Thanks guys!
The pano is so wide it's hard to display large enough to see the details of the photogenic Brooks Range, so I split it in 2. ![]()

Been cloudy/rainy most days lately and barely getting to 100F. Were probably due for a mid-monsoon dry hot spell anytime. |

Ride Report Completed
I partially blame this thread for luring me north. I initially had different plans this summer.
Now that my ride report is complete I'll post some photos of the Dalton here to help lure others. ![]() Of course, you could get all of the dirty details of our ride here: WAY UP NORTH - To the Arctic Ocean & Back to Arizona My wife and I enjoyed the Dalton and felt it was well worth the other 9000 miles to get there and back. Just curious about how much time this ride took you and your route up? (I assume you left from Phoenix?) Asking because I aborted my Dalton trip at Jasper. I'm an independent software engineer/consultant and my client pressured me into a hard return date. Once we got to Jasper from Denver, I just didn't think I had enough time to make Prudhoe Bay and get back in my computer (aka: the old ball and chain) without seriously pissing off my client.
It'd be nice to know from the people who've ridden up that way the actual travel time... I can use the info for the next attempt
