Laugh Arizona Tag-O-Rama!

It started in Ohio
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321439

Then it moved to Virginia
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360246

I played it in Pennsylvania...
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=372674

And now, I want to bring it to the great state of Arizona. This can be a lot of fun and take you on a lot of great rides. If this goes over well, I may instigate an AZ Off-Road Tag-O-Rama thread as well Let's have some fun folks.

Rules are easy...

#1 - Find the tag and get a picture of your bike in the same location (as best as possible). The first person to post a found tag gets to place the next tag. If you get a tag, but somebody else posts their picture first, you lose.

#2 - Take the tag to a new location, get the photo and post it here. Give a few hints so the next person can figure out where the tag is located. Try to place the tags in interesting locations, maybe a bit of history that can be found down some nice twisties. Remember, the point of the game is not to make the clues difficult to figure out. It is about riding, not Googling.

#2a - New tag must be placed within 36 hours. If new tag is not set within the time limit, the first Bruce posted gets the tag. If no Bruce was claimed, tag will revert to the previous tag, and somebody else will get their chance. If you won't have the time to drop it off, don't pick it up to begin with.

#2a.1 - This rule is intended to keep the game moving. If the overdue tag is posted before somebody grabs the reverted tag, then the new tag will stand. However, giving the overdue tagholder a load of crap is highly encouraged.

#3 - Tag must be a) findable and b) not placed on a dirt road. Maintained gravel is OK, but make sure to let folks know that gravel is required to get to your tag. We don't want to exclude those who don't like to get dirty.

#4 - File photos are NOT permitted. You gotta ride to play this game.

#5 - The motorcycle in the picture must get to the tag location under its own power (The vfr870 rule).

#6 - No whining. If you have a valid sugestion to improve the game, we can listen to that. If you just wanna bitch and moan because you got Bruce'd, do it elsewhere.

To Clarify: Getting "Bruce'd" is when you haul ass to get the tag, get it, come back, go to post it and discover somebody beat you to it. Keep in mind, this game is about riding, so don't be a sore loser. If you get the tag after someone though, feel free to post it. As mentioned in rule #2a, if the new tag is not placed within 36 hours, the first Bruce gets to place the tag.

Now that the rules are taken care of, here is the first tag. I'll make this an easy one to get things started.

This tag, located on some twisties just south of "Where the Desert Breeze Meets the Mountain Air" pays tribute to the Father of Arizona Highways.

Sorry they're kinda crappy photos, my camera decided to die so I had to snag these with my phone.

So, now that it's all explained....GO!

Tag location.

Could it possible be near a town called Yarnell?
I could not find anything that relates specifically to the exact location of that Charles Churchill memorial.
I've been a "tagger" for some time now, but thought I'd gotten it out of my system after moving to Arizona.

The only person who should be giving away the location is the one that finds the tag and posts a pic of their bike at that location!

Dos, I thought you hated these threads?

If it weren't for the fact that I'm getting all prepped up for the Colorado trip I would've went and got it already.

ps. don't tell the people back in NYC that I said that.

Bah, I saw someone posted in the thread and thought maybe we were getting this thing going after all. But it's just dos, up to his antics again.

And don't worry dos, your secret is safe with me. Taking the VFR up to Colorado?

Come on folks, there's gotta be some of you that are interested in this...right? At this rate, mods might as well nuke the thread, or move it to JM.

Well done! Now we just need some sort of clue as to the location of the new tag.

I think this tag has sat idle for long enough. Since I lost today's other game to a bicycle, I'll tag this one!

New tag is a Pleasant place but not very private.

Ok got it. DK you didn't mention a second entrance I could sneak into and not pay the $6 entry fee. Oh well it was worth it.

Here is the new spot.

This is a nice ride. If you don't tell your wife you are going it could RUIN your relationship. You might have to stop at SEARS or KAY Jewelers and pick something up for Her to make it right. If you make it to 7 springs you went way too far.
