Lot of Club! Beautiful Rifle though!

I use my trusty Winchester 94 30-30 for deer and a Savage 7MM Mag for anything bigger.

8:55 AM opening day. NEF .243 @ 60 yards

Shot right through the windpipe, only ran about 10 yards.

Sadly, this it a pretty respectable buck in the U.P. these days. People shoot some monsters but overall they shoot too many bambis.

But, after seven years of passing on spikes, forks, and other small deer, I'll take it. I would have liked to let it go but its been so long I took it. Venison backstraps for dinner tonight!

I live on an 80 acre wooded parcel in the Summer and we had about 20 does in the area but I never saw a buck. My coworkers boyfriend bow hunted the area all fall and never saw a buck until last week when the rut started. We don't have many bucks up here that are big anymore because there just aren't any bucks.

Is that A-Frame bullet stout enough?

Swift A-Frames are great hunting bullets. I have used them to fill my freezer many times! They don't blow up I mean they mushroom perfectly. Everybody thinks a 350 Rem Mag is a shoulder pounder. It is not. I have two 300 Win Mags in the safe that kick more. I call my 350 a "35 Remington on steriods"

Great woods round in a short carbine. Can carry it all day and not notice it. The perfect freezer filler.

I always wanted to take a Model 673, remove the sights and vent rib, low gloss it, glass stock, etc although the laminate isn't bad. I just hate that hook on the front!

My oldest (14) tagged this guy Saturday. I usually shoot a meat deer right away opening day, but he said he wanted to hunt for antler this time around so I held my fire. I stopped counting at 22 antlerlesson Saturday, closest was 15 feet.
