SYYM needs more dealers
Howdy,
Semi thread -jack alert: I wish SYM had a dealer in the Shreveport/Bossier City, La area. I'd have liked an HD200, probably. I hope SYM's business takes off this year, with the high cost of gas giving 'em an opportunity to increase thier cutomer base. LarryRickenbacker screwed with this post 03-04-2011 at 10:01 AM |

They have not seemed to have made an official announcement as to who will distribute the scooters in the US. Lance seems to be in the mix and I saw a photo of a SYM manufactured LANCE scoot.
Neither Lance nor Carter Brothers have anything current about SYM on their websites that I could find. I am not sure I am confident enough to buy their products, as good as they may be. my dealer seems pretty good but buying parts from Canada, at retail in some cases and them selling them to me is not a great plan. My dealer is offering $1,000 off the RV250's in stock. |

Now that is dissapointing. I thought this would be the Ideal scoot. The body of a yamaha c3 with a decent motor... If it's slow, I'd stick with the Yamaha.

Hmm, I wander why? Maybe it uses a cheap air cooled GY6 150 cc standard engine? SYM claims it'll do 59 MPH, which isn't bad. Maybe its optimistic though. And I guess the issue is mostly acceleration. But if you want an excuse to buy a SYM 125 cc scooter, for just $400 more you can buy one of the faster 125 class scooters at just $2,698 vs. $2,298 for the Fiddle. The HD125 is a high end 125 cc. It runs a very similar engine as the 200, and has a claimed top speed of 65 MPH from SYM. It is also supposed to be pretty accurate. I also believe it because it is a well designed liquid cooled motor. If you ask me, the HD is really the way to go. |

I don't think SYM has made any announcement because their contract with Carter Bros hasn't expired yet. I've also heard that the rumored East coast distributor will not be Piersports.
