I love that yellow flat fender. Someday I want one, even if I just use it to toodle down to the neighborhood store twice a week.

I'm not much of a purist and this will never be a show truck, just a functional workhorse. I have the snail shell for the stock blower fan, but no blower or fan. Being that they are either hard to get or expensive, I cheaped out and will be putting in a nice strong blower fan from a 1981 Mazda GLC (fondly know as Fat Chick) I parted out for another aborted project. The problem is the snail and squirrel cage blows in the opposite rotation.

This was pretty easy to remove and will be drilling new holes to fit the Mazda housing. Unfortuanately, the glove box interferes now. Being that it's pretty ratty anyway, I'll make one up that is shorter.

Mounting point for housing. you can just see the heater core.

The truck is actually starting to earn it's keep as it helped me drop off the little Suzuki M31 to it's new owner.

Mine is a '56 and it was on the driver's side just above the step plate when you open the door.

I was just in Vegas, but the SEMA show was just setting up and I was going to miss it. Didn't realize they had a dislay of Jeeps.

Well, the truck is proving to be a real work horse today. I dropped off the Project 'beo to it's new owner. Hopefully he has more luck with it than I did.

Mounted the fan housing, trying to find the original bolts and screws to the fan and resistor.

With all the extra holes, I used aluminum tape to seal them up. Check out the botched trans tunnel. I don't know if the Buick engine required moving everything up a few inches, but looks like the shifters wouldn't clear the tunnel anymore.

I've got another trans cover coming and I'll see if I can make it fit better.

Got my good trans tunnel from a guy on the Willys forum, just for the cost of shipping.

Looking at the original location, you can see the difference in placement of the shifters. Not sure why the Buick engine caused such a large shift forward.

I'm trying to save the holes and placement of the original openings, so I must modify the new cover.

I have to swap the tunnel for the transfer shifters in order to cover up the original openings.

Marked and ready to butcher this thing.

A little jig saw action and test fit.

A little more cutting...

Still needs some fine tuning and wish I took up welding. Anyone in my area handy with a welder.

I may end up doing that, at least to act as "tack welds" so I could take it to get proper welding.

Saw this today, still working. Engine was replaced 5 years ago and the older lady told me "It takes a real beating".

It had a rifle rack too.

Yeah, if you're willing to come out past La Honda.
