We did some great rides from the Darby Camp over the couple of days of West Fest (Greywolf11, MyDogSparky, and me BHB)!

On that nice Friday we rode via a dirt pass South into Idaho to a remote Fire Lookout 3K above the North Fork of the Salmon River:

Then out to a long 25 mile ridge with lots of loose freshly graded two track...that sucked

Finally we reach the volunteer manned Fire Lookout above the Salmon River!
A cool old cabin complete with a stove and cots still is in use below the lookout.

The views looking into the Frank Church Wilderness and South over the Salmon River are freaking amazing

That Saturday of West Fest we rode up to the Hells Half Acre Fire Lookout out off the Magruder Corridor (turn off is just a few miles before the Magruder Ranger Station)

Just a few pans from the amazing vistas of the Selway Bitteroot Range and the Frank Church Wilderness in Idaho to the south.

Oh & re this pic here Are you hoping to sometime turn into a beautiful butterfly. Or maybe is that the feeling you get each time you shed that cocoon, ready for flight

Friday, I took a ride into the McGruder Corridor with Rockin' Rollin and Redone. We went up to about 8000 feet/a couple of miles past the McGruder Massacre sign.

Ha! I knew someone would hike up there! I found a locked gate and not being acclimated didn't want to hike, that was 8k elev IIRC. I enjoyed the climb and descent on the bike.

Darn. I missed that. Must have been wonderful.
