Hi everyone!

First post here. Just got my 2011 Versys last night! What a blast, I love it! I got the dark red w/silver side plastic panels. Have you tried giving the plastic panels a coat of paint yet? I have the paint cans all ready to go, but I haven't found any pics of the 2011 model with painted panels. I figured if I'm interested enough to want to get rid of the silver, I will try the rattle can first and if it doesn't last or doesn't look good, I'll buy the replacements...

I think the hardest part will be the break-in period! So tempting to just see what she can do...

I do like the way it looks though. If I somehow damaged some of the plastic, I'd look harder at replacing it with the newer pieces.

Rattle can is marginal at best.

Break in is pretty minimal. Keep it under six grand 'till you get four or five hundred miles, then under 7K 'till a thousand. Just ride and enjoy it. Change the oil sooner rather than later, even just a drain and refill. I did my first at 250 miles, then at 650 with a filter per spec, then full syn at 1400. I use delo 400 for break in oil. That's just the way I do them.

of course my '09 is in Plasma blue, the fastest color. Picked it up in May, 10 miles on the clock, slowly building it to what I want.

I am answering this because I want to build up my odometer posts.
I use Spectro 4 10w 40 in my GS.

P.S. I like your 2nd Ammendment quotes.

Thomas Jefferson once said:

When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.
