We also had our ladies with us.
I met the other Norge rider through wildguzzi and we have had several rides together so far.

New forks!

About a month ago, I swapped out my Norge forks for a pair of 1200 Sport forks that I bought from MI in Seattle. A little shorter (2-3 cm?), but stiffer and with adjustable preload and rebound damping, so when I sit on the bike I end up with a ride height pretty much unchanged.

Today we had a beautiful day here in Washington which gave me the first real chance to give the new forks a workout. I'm no expert like some of you guys here, but as far as I'm concerned, the suspension is now all sorted. I don't need a new shock. OEM is fine for the riding I do. These forks make all the difference.

Now if I could get rid of the decel popping without spending $600 on a ECU remap or a PC-V.

Drone,
Glad to hear about the fork swap. I have entertained the same idea. Why in the hell Guzzi didn't use these forks for the Norge in the first place.

For one thing, I'm a typical big, fat American rider, and I think the softer Norge forks probably perform better for the "ideal" 166-lb European rider. I also think MG was aiming for a highly compliant "cushy" ride (a target they hit pretty well) when compared to the kind of ride we've come to expect in a high-end sport touring bike like the RT, FJR, etc. In other words, I think they were aiming more towards "touring" and less to "sport." The ST1300 is that way too--nice comfortable long-distance ride on the slab, but can't hang with the big boys when you push it.

You have to resize them in Dropbox. Or resize them before you upload them to Dropbox.

Horn

I've decided to upgrade my horn and I'm going to use a relay setup. That means I need to find a source for some horn power. I'm sure Jim Davis would tell me to simply run a fused line right off the battery but I hate mucking up the battery terminals with extra lines. So I'm thinking about tapping into the under-seat power socket then just running a long wire to the front of the bike. I think I can then ground it anywhere.

Unless one of you's guys has a better suggestion for a power draw closer to the front. Warning--I do not want to remove all the tupperware to do this!

Not sure if this is any easier/better but I have tapped off the fuse block on my California with one of these:

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Cooper-Bussmann-ATM-fuse-tap-converts-one-into-two-fusible-circuits-10-Amps-maximum-on-added-circuit/_/N-255s?itemIdentifier=32416

Rated at 10A 32V so it should be able to carry the current draw of a pair of Hi/Low tone Fiamm Freeway blasters.

Well that's a pretty neat solution. 10 amps is fine. Just have to figger which circuit wouldn't mind the extra draw.
