I think part of the reasoning, at least for me, is to "be seen", a safety thing.
I just ordered floods, and will tip em down a bit. The new dimmer-switcher feature will be cool. ![]() I think we should have a contest-post where we post pics of dual sport bikes with these lights on them, running UNDER WATER.... stream/river crossings... Someone else go first.

You could use a Heat Troller. That is nothing more than a PWM device, and will handle far more current than these lights require. There is a model they sell intended for heated grips which is wire-in only, doesn't have the plugs for heated clothing. I sometimes see them for $50. Those are quite waterproof, based on my 10 years of "field testing".

Here's a pic of the lights attached to my KLR.
They're mounted to the fairing wings and after 25 miles of bumpy gravel washboard roads they stayed put. Flood on left, spot on right.

I'm still fine tuning the aiming, but I think the flood provides the most useful light. In the pic, the flood is on the bikes left side, spot on right.

I would like to buy a pair of Flood beam with 3 mode dimming for my DR650. Can someone please suggest which mounting option I should get- flat or 7/8s bar mount?
Thanks!
