Great report!

I didn't show up at South Fork until Sunday when everybody was packing to go home. Just wanted to meet a few people in person. Sorry I missed you.

Now get out there and give us another good read!

Thanks for all the kind words everybody!

It was big, big fun for me to do this ride!..and making the report and getting to re-live it all over again has made getting back to the daily grind much less painful.

All of the pics posted up to this point were just as they came out of the camera...but sometimes I think it's fun to ruin my pics even more with a little post process.

Now that this ride report was finally done I had to have something to do during desk hours....so here's a few that I chopped up the other day.

This first one is from the ghost town of Granite, MT.

Wise River, MT

And a few from Bannack St. Park.

Hey Kevin,

Finally getting around to finishing this...thanks for taking the time to put together this stoopid report...it was stoopid awesome!

Getting to follow along on your travels was a small consolation for not being able to do a planned, two-week ride out in the same area this summer...romance intervened...

Cheers,

Wow that took a while (to read the whole thing in one shot), great report Kevin
I'm still trying to get caught up with all these great RR's let alone up to date with my own. Just never enough time. Had to leave West Fest early to get back to TO for a wedding. Went back out to Calgary already in august Fly-ride#8, back home & had to take my wife & girls to New York City for some family vacation.

I'll be back out that way next week on my Fly-ride. Fly-ride-9, Calgary to Denver. Sept 14-25.
Highway to the Sun, Yellowstone, Rushmore, Crazyhorse, see the Grand Perky mountains, Deadwood, Jackson hole, finish in Denver. Whoo Hoo

So I'll be doing a good amount of the same route, at least roughly as you did, thanks for the preview.
I like the kinda stuff you're riding on your Strom, my kinda ride.

That ADVTENN's a bit of a wild guy isn't he , might be those KLR's maybe he should get a Strom. (or a Husaberg).

Great report Kevin, it was good to meet you at WF. I took the same route home (Durango, CO) just a day behind y'all, it's cool to see another perspective with great pics!

Can anyone tell me what kind of camper this is or PM me the owners screen name?

looks like a slide in truck bed camper (w/out a cab over) on a utility trailer.

Thanks guys! It was a good ride!

Rollin...you've been a busy one, eh!

Dave...I still need to catch up on your latest report!!

Gerst...I think Dorzok nailed it with the camper set-up. I can't remember that guy's screen name to save my life though!
(but his real name starts the same as mine)

Thank you for the kind words! It was a great trip...lots of fun for sure!

Those pics were all taken with a Canon point and shoot, the old A590 IS to be specific. It was still healthy in '10 when those were taken but last summer the lens stack finally became infused with dust.

I've replaced it with another Canon, an SX150 IS since the 590 has been discontinued. That old 590 still works fine except for the spots....it has over 14,000 clicks on it with many of those being held up in the wind while riding..... I'm going to keep using it on dual sport rides where there's likely to be lots of dust in hopes of making the new one last longer.
