Laugh AUSTRIA to MOROCCO ... on my 125ccm

LET's GO TO MORRRRRRRRRROCCCCCCOOOOOOO

DAY 1 5.8.2010
Hey ! :) This year i decided to go a bit further than last year and therefor chose to set my destination to morrocco, namely marrakesh if i make it.
Some little facts for kicks:somewhere in marrocco ;)

The rider the same quirky guy as last year, nothing changed except thatll ill be celebrating my 26th most likely

The bike the same little suzuki van van 125 maxing out at 107kmh unloaded on even surface - now featuring aluminium panniers with a bombass DIY holder system heh and a different can ;)

The route AUSTRIA - ITALY - FRANCE - SPAIN - PORTUGAL - GIBRALTAR - MOROCCO - ferry BARCELONA - ferry GENOVA - AUSTRIA

The mission RIDE THE WORLD ;)

I spent the evening packing, repacking, unfolding, unwrapping, rewrapping heh you know the deal guys, initially i had help from my mum who, after seeing how this would stretch late in the evening left me with some kisses and hugs around 10 pm as i went back into the garage to spray the diy pannier holder system black after all it does not have to yell 'homemade' to everybody straight away heh.
Anyway, once everything was finally set up in the way i wanted it to be it was around 2am and i hit the sack, waking at 7 to find the weather being crap and going back to sleep till 9.
Finally around midday i was on the road and my first destination was BOLZANO (Italy) - I was supposed to meet a friend of mine there who also is in the same kickboxing club as i am which unfortunately did not work out, anyway we arranged for meeting when i am travelling back.
Btw what is it with martial arts and solo motorcycle trips? i basically just finished reading Glenn Heggstad's amazing book "Crossing 50 borders on the road to global understanding" and man do i feel like a mini version of this haha.
Anyways, i arrived at the gardalake very late around 9pm, checked out various camping places till i found one at an acceptable price, went to eat a pizza and have a beer and off i was for sleep.

DAY 2 6.8.2010
Good morning fellow adv'ers !

I am currently sitting in my tent on the garda lake and it's raining, well what can you do after all i brought my netbook so here we go with the text. To be honest i just typed the day 1 aswell now as i do not want to pack the bike at the moment heh - i wonder how long itll be till they charge me for another day, initially i just paid for one night .. guess ill be fine till midday ?
What do you think about a high tech breakfast ? I sure like it ;)
So yeah, being a bit chaotic i left the italy map on the bike, its in the panniers jeah but i really dont want to go out at the moment so no trip planning for today right now. Anyways i just want to head towards the italo/french border so after all the route is pretty much planned already anyways sort of ..

As for the time being, i dont know i guess i will just read a little bit in my morrocco book and wait to see if anything changes in the weather - i sort of doubt it but you never know at the moment by the sound of it i am inclined to believe that it is getting worse oh well we shall see - i will definitely continue today i have a red full body overall with me just for this case after all. Ok guys, ttyl !

DAY 3 7.8.2010
In the morning the forecast was for rain and it started to rain slowely, while packing my gear i ran into john who used to ride motocross for many many years and we talked for a solid 3 hours without me noticing at all.
The chap and his wife were adoreable and he treated me for coffee and tea all while i was packing my gear and exchanged stories, man we had a blast but all came to an end i had to change into my bright red rain gear to continue..
SO ! After quite a rainstorm last night i solely rode abour 100km to brescia even though i had planned for much more,
but man it was pouring cats and dogs incredible !
Anyways, after some time i managed to find a hotel at an acceptable price and stayed for the night.
Turned out also the guy at the reception was an avid biker who was much into choppers and custom builds, chatted with him while a had a beer and finally settled for the rathole hotel i had booked myself into lol.

my god, it was noisy all the time i had no idea what was going on during the night but it sounded like a JACKHAMMER going into the walls omg but earplugs really did their job well.
So, right now i am sitting at a caffee in piacenza and broke the 8000kmn on my biked oddometer hehe quite an accomplishment on my cute little 125er vanny.

Right so now ill format some fotos, copy all on the memory stick and will soon head to ALLESSANDRIA for today where i can hopefully upload the journal so stay tuned fellow adv'ers i am sticking to my destination !!!

Looking forward to read more. Morocco is one of my next planned trips.
Love those guys who are driving with smallest possible bike. Not quite normal these people, but cool anyway.

DAY3 reloaded ;)
As you are already reading this i have been to allessandria and to the internet to uplad the trip report.
anyways, once i was there i decided man i can go on and rode all the way down to WHERE THE FUCK AM I
close to the french border.

the day was rather uneventfull but in the evening, after pinching my tent,
i decided to go for a stroll on the beach and ran into a fisherman who was in the process of roping up his gear.
well, i spent about 3 hours with him talking about fishing and the life and man it was a blast,
the dudes name is rocco and about mid august he plans on opening his own restaurant.
he even passed me his number and told me if i happened to ride through this region again i am invited for a free dinner at his place,
now if anyone tells me riding alone isnt the best of all options ill call him/her a madman/gal ;)

so yeah, in the evening i cooked myself some instant soup with some fresh veggies from the market and now
im in my tent hitting these lines, really really tired and im soon going to hit the sack.
i guess tomorrow ill hit france and well see how that is going to be like,
after all i dont speak a word french apart from knowing how to say I DONT SPEAK FRENCH im boned lolz,
im curious oh yeah ok fellow riders and ridellas and friends of mine who are reading this,
i am off for the sack, enjoy your cosy beds at home and believe me .. i would NOT trade my tent,
matress and sleeping bag for the comforts of a bed right now, its just a bit too awesome at the moment ;)
gnight yall !

DAY 4 8.8.2010
Remember the fisherman from yesterday, well, today as i woke up and fixed my brekkie i suddenly spotted the chap's head around a corner of the camping ground
turned out he came back to look for me as he wanted to have an apperitiv with me.
Lol the dude was soaked in sweat, i helped him carry his gear to the beach and then we went off for a bar.
After a beer or two and some olives and crisps i soon found out the reason for all this hospitality, the dude was a flaming homo and aparently saw some opportunity for whatever in me ..
What began as a nice drink soon turned into an obvious effort to ge me drunk but i declined any further beers as i seriously had to push to get rid of the dude.
Pretty much fled to my tent back, started to pack and BAM there he was again, great now i was being stalked - anyways i didnt let anything disturb me from continuing to pack and more or less had to push the dude away from me once i ignited the engine and rode on.
As i wasted a lot of time with the dude the day's goal was just IMPERIA but hey i am so close to the french border now that i can almost taste the baguettes.
While cruising to imperia, and going the wrong direction for god knows how many times,
i spotted another VANVAN on the road and turned to have a look at it.

Once i was there, a charming girl was already mounting it and we exchanged some little stories
about our little bikes, i think she was envious of my changed pipe (no pun intended) ;)
In the evening i ran into vassili, a romanian guy who i chatted for a while with and who treated me for a beer,
later on juist hitting the sack and that's that.

DAY 5 9.8.2010
Just sitting here in the morning typing my journal and thinking about this one verrrrrrry narrow curve i rode yesterday where
for the first time for me i ever had the road griding on my boot due to the angle of the bike.
Cant recall of leaning that much into a curve ever before but hey, it felt natural ! ;)

Great adventure so far, but try to spend more time with gorgeous girls on Van Vans than toothless paunchy "flaming homos".
