Day 6

Odda-Stavanger
http://maps.google.se/maps/ms?hl=sv&...67943bdd76e9d2

Wake up to heavy rain. Rain stops after few minutes and instead very windy. Itīs a
little bit cold in the tent, but when I put my head out from the tentopening....I meet
a warm wind on my face.
The warm wind on face feels like, when get aboard on a plain in a cold country, and
then 10 hours later take the first step out of plain at some 30 degrees warmer country.

Well, strange warm wind?!?
.....on Z and few kilometers ride the ordinary weather is back, rain!

Låtefossen, famous waterfall

Film: Z goes for Låtefossen

Z takes a shower

Hitting Hardangervidda. Heavy head wind. Itīs so heavy so Z keeps sped between 20 and
40 kms/h. To get little bit more speed I have to turn on small roads. The forets on small
roads gives Z protection from the wind and speeds up.

Coffebrake, and.....

At same time, Z enjoys

Looks okay to goe forward

Ferry from Nesvik to Hjelmeland

Stavanger is not far away now, if I take the ferry from Tau.

Question:

In Sweden we call the meanders for serpentiner.

Feels that serpentin is an english word? Or is it named meander or do english languade use another term for it?

I don't know if they came from the english language or not, but we do use them.

They pretty much mean the same thing and are used interchangeably.

In my experience serpentine usually means an exaggerated like this:

Where as meander is more relaxed like this river:

But how they're used is mostly based on where you're from I think.

How does your Z handle the mountain roads?

Does it run out of power when you get up high or does it pretty much stay the same?

Day 8

Notodden to Karlstad
http://maps.google.se/maps/ms?hl=sv&...f7624954209b73

Today is a day I should ride to Oslo and the turn north and home. Instead avoid Oslo
and ride south of the town, pass the swedish border and ride east.

Before Oslo, Kongsberg. Nice bridge

Thought there where any more ferrys. My memory is failing. Donīt remember any ferrys
here?!?
This one was the cheapest, also the shortest time. Like the fast turn ferry made before
docking, almost skid in to it.

Tunnel under the big passengerships at Oslofjorden.

From border I ride whole way to Karlstad on E18, heavy traffic road. Cars passing and they
are many.....to many! Tough balance the Z on outer edge at the tarmac.

Still, found some fancy places to rest on. Z enjoy the grass.

At camping Karlstad. Take many walks in the warm weather. Enjoy the windy weather wich
is coming from the sea.
Itīs saturday and the camping is in party. First time I notice the darkness at night. Iīm not
used with it at middle of summer, where I come from, near the arctic circle, itīs daylight
day and night

Late in bed. Like the warm weather, itīs t-shirt on!

.....to be continued

Fanny you pick this photo. Iīm been riding motorcycle on this rode when visiting de la bonette mountains.

I think also it was this serpentines I was near to fall with my bike. There was several photographers at the serpentinturns. Waving with one hand on handlebars and and taking the curve little bit to fast..... :o)
