No problem with the Harley (I've never ridden one so my opinion would be moot). But I notice you didn't deny the heated seat, boots and grips..

I was trying to figure out what types of engines will be on this little trip... too much for the 250 I'm afraid... I hate flogging it to death to keep up.

Enjoy and take pictures!

I have farm/house work to do anyhoo.... as you said... winter is on its way....

I'm working Saturday and my F650 needs a new chain and sprockets before I can ride it again.

But the good news is the Superbug is home again and has a new clutch.

Have a great ride if you get out Sat. and be sure to take lots of pictures.

What time are you planning to be in the Fernan area? I'm thinking of doing some riding Saturday too.

Hello all, its been a busy summer and fall, but finally, I'm done for the season. Its was a bad year for riding for me, put less then 1k on my bike this summer and I can't even blame it on flat tires.
Maybe we could all get together sometime soon for dinner somewhere. My schedule is open for the next 5 months.

You don't need a chain 'til it flings off...

I did better than I thought I would

Just checked my mileage. Just over 5,000 miles on the Dakar, and slightly over 1,200 miles on the RT. I feel pretty good for my first year on two wheels.

Still have a lot to learn. Laid the Dakar down three times and the RT twice, so far...all at or near dead stops. Wish I had my coordination and strength from 30 years ago!

It did, sort of, when I was down at Bend. It fell off the sprocket just as I started down a dirt road. I wasn't going fast so no flinging was involved. Lucky for me I was riding with Allan and he put it back on for me to get to camp. Luke was in camp and had a chain tool and he took a link out of the chain and that got me home.

I don't like being a pain in the backside for the people I'm with and I was just that. I was not impressed with myself.

It's good to see a post from you. Welcome back to you too. Now that winter is on it's way does this mean I get to see some of you guys again.

We'll have to have a meet up soon.

You were probably back home before we even got into Idaho. We had a good ride.

Marc shows us a new way to park a KLR.

You guys go up there a lot.... I was at a wedding at the Fernan Campground in August and saw you guys go riding by.... (That place on the left.

Looks like you had fun..

I just went for a short ride....maybe 1.5 hours....met Airheadbruce at the gas station to say hello....then had a date with a pretty lady this afternoon....

3 months out of the saddle, especially for what happened to me, made rought/washout trails tough on me.... I need to re-learn the controls..

Slow technical I still have, and fast/smooth trails I can still do.

So Marc... spill it...what happened? We all know a KLR doesn't have enough power to get the front wheel remotely light.
