If I'd known y'all were headed out there I'd have met you out there today. I was thinking about going out there today as it was....

I was just there to pickup fork seals and the steering bearing for the Oldwing. I just happened to notice Buttercup there and started harassing her...

March 1st

So with the snow/rain/sleet -- does this mean that March came in like a lion? and should go out like a lamb?

Can it just get to the lamb part and good riding weather? ... like right now?? Is that TOO much to ask?

Sledneck?

Yeah, with this weather we're having, this is going to make the 6 Hr race an "interesting" one this weekend.

I think the Outta Sight Racing crew might have to change their name to the Mudhound Gang.

there's still lots of snowmobiling to be had, you haven't missed out yet. it's just starting to get good. usually ride sleds into may.....sometimes june. any time you want to go, just let me know. you'll be hooked on sleds in no time.

Agreed, there is still a ton of sledding left to do. Access will start to get tougher in May, but you can still get there with a 4WD and a sled deck. Like most things, snowmobiling can be as cheap or expensive as you want it to be.

If your into trails, as $1200 sled and a couple a hundred a year in maint/parts is probably enough. If you like to ride the back country, you can get a capable sled for 3-5K and plan on 6-8 hundred a year on maint/parts. From there, you are only limited by your income and common sense.

I ride the back country almost every weekend, and while you do see lots of 12K sleds with 5K turbos, we see just as many guys on 5-8 year old machines having just as much fun.

I outfitted a family of 4 with sleds and a 4 place trailer for less than the cost of 1 new sled (granted, it took some elbow grease) and have spent a total of about $900 this year on maint/parts.

I should be riding right now, but spring fever has me busy modding my new to me XR650R for DS/ADV use. Anybody have a recommendations for a good Honda parts guy locally?

I get all my parts from CdA Honda. The guys in there are really nice and have always treated me fairly... (They've taken a lot of my money...which could explain why they're so nice to me. )

I've got a few inches of hard packed snow and ice on the driveway...and am suffering from cabin fever. So I spent some time on Basecamp and with my FS maps planning some rides I want to do this summer. One is a loop around Priest Lake. Another I have in mind, is from the Bunco to Wallace, over to Taft and down the State Line road to the St. Joe. From there, either back down FS50 and over Rochett pass, or maybe keep heading south down to the Lolo. Anyway, what do the rest of you have in mind?
