I don't get many flats. Seems like some of the guys I ride with do. Haha. I'm usually the one who has the tools on me and the experience, hence forth, I *get* to fix their tubes.
I ride a lot so go through tires frequently. I typically flip the rotation of my rear tires to get more life outta them. I also put new tires on for friends. If you are frequently getting flats, review your line choosing skills. One can be fast as hell but still not abuse the tubes. I run heavy-duty tubes, and my buddy Dylan runs the Extra HD tubes. Not many flat problems. Also if your tire has been damaged, there can be bits from the tire sticking into the tube. Both Loud Al and another friend of mine had that. The other friend had two flats per ride in two consecutive rides until he fingered it out. Rim strips are $2 at CdA Honda.

Apple Jam rides a big bike so I think it's just harder on equipment. Plus I hear he rides it like a little bike

Only flat I have ever gotten was from a razor blade my rear tire picked up, one must always be warry of the gutter when being a hooligan downtown, all sorts of things collect next to the curb.
![]() Thankfully the motard is so light I rode it 2 miles on a flat and vnp514 was nice enough to trailer it to my house

I heard the mx guys just use electrical tape for a rimstrip, seems adequate if not better, and cheaper.

After 5 years on the Big Orange Pig, I'm just good enough to be kinda fast. NOT good enough to actually be good ![]() Sharp dirty road rocks and a 500lb bike loaded with 100lbs of camping fun and either the TKC80 or Dunlop 606, and I'd get pinch flats from smacking those baby heads. Can't slow down now, ...so I just bought stiffer sidewall 908 front tire. No pinch flats yet on the current 908 front. The 908 rear ran too hot with ultra heavy duty tubes, and would basically melt any patches.... I have pulled the tires clean off to check them, and the rim strips.

I bent the front rim so hard on a root, that there was no way for it to hold air without that tube. I bobbled and bounced when riding slow on pavement, but I rode her home, and for the next 2k miles, until I bought a new Woody's setup. ..... A tubless (Tubliss) setup would have really screwed up that trip
