Unfortunately not. I would have even preferred riding 2 up on the Interstate to remodeling the bathroom. Are the steaks still top shelf @ Wolf Lodge???

Hey, I remember you and that Dirty Girl you hang out with too.

Thanks for the heads up on Rainier Rider, that was a good article but nothings like going up there and seeing it for yourself.

The article didn't mention Jay's a pretty darned good bread baker too.

Republic ride?

I'm thinking of doing a slow ride up to Republic on Thursday morning. Want to try some of the asphalt between here and there on my Dakar. I hear that it is very scenic. At any rate, will probably leave ~9 a.m. and get back late afternoon. Planning on lots of stops for picture taking.

Anyone slowpokes interested in tagging along?

Dale

I know, we haven't been around much this summer. I took tuesday off ( that was my 2nd day off in the last 54 days) and we rode around the palouse all day. Found a really nice road that goes from colfax to the town of palouse.
We need to get together some evening for dinner.

Ask me about the dirt roads up around there if you're curious.

I'd like to hear about those gravel roads!

So long as I can take it slow and easy (NOOBie old fart and all) I'd like to try some of them. I've been down at slow speed twice in the last month and am still trying to get the stiffness out of my neck and back. Hope the poor bike can handle my stupidity.

The road from Colfax to Palouse is SR272. Great ride. But don't cut yourself short...carry on through Palouse (go out Main St) and ride the rest of SR272 to US95 in Idaho (it becomes Idaho 6 at the state line) which is also a really nice ride.

The Nissan car commercials during the Atlanta Olympics were filmed on that road and a ton of other car companies have been using that area for ads since.

Those two are kind of my "only got time for a short one" rides as I live in Palouse...easy access.

I'd agree. Dirtwurm and I rode that coming back from Hells Canyon. I had a blast riding it.

Here's a good one that's even paved:
North on SR21 to Curlew, East on Boulder/Deer Creek road/ comes out on SR395.
