It's a funny old world really. We have Ford Transit Connects all over the UK and where I work too. You can only get them with a diesel engine and manual gearbox. They go plenty fast enough for a small van too. Check out specifications:
FORD UK Webpage Pretty fugly though...

Hell, this website is predicated on unconventionally beautiful motorcycles (read: fugly to the rest of the world!).
I drove one of the TC's- super-sharp turning radius, easy parking, and seeming plenty of power to get into traffic, hit freeway speeds, etc. Then again, it was just me and the guy from the dealership, in an otherwise empty van- but it was kind of fun. |

I'm not going to be in the market for a new vehicle for at least another two years but I did go and drive the Transit a few weeks ago and was all set to start saving my money for one... Then you just HAD to post that smut. I hate you.

I'd prefer the regular transit ... with a diesel of course.

At least, that's what I'm thinking! Now, if BMW would smarten the fuck up and trade me a new GSA straight across for my aging, beat-up VFR!

I think I'd buy a short box Sprinter before the Ford. Plenty of power to haul anything, not bad to park, and you can stand in it.

A TC can be had for $23k- the Sprinter is over $10,000 higher. |
