She's got game

Which really shouldn’t be a surprise, I mean she was a four year starter and received numerous All State honors in high school then played two years of collegiate volleyball but when she asked me if she could take a ride with me Sunday it was a first.

Anyway this is our daughter Meredith all suited up. While it didn’t exactly fit, I suppose it was better than nothing…ATGATT

Thinking this might be a once in a life time thing I figured I better make the best of it, so we headed south and I introduced her to her Great, Great, Great Grandfather.

Then on to Live Oak Cemetery where we paid respects to her Great and Great Great Grandfathers.

Of course there was lots of this as we traversed the Cahaba River watershed all the way to where it meets the Alabama River at Cahawba.

After the showers Saturday night some roads proved more interesting than others.

Cahawba

Lunch - Orrville

She declined my 4 course Sunday Dinner opting for a chicken biscuit instead.

No it’s not what you think, I stopped to walk this Soybean field for arrowheads and she took the opportunity to stretch out for a bit. On her facebook page she titled this “who knew riding a motorcycle for 9 hours was a workout...?

Wasn’t the way we were going but I’m drawn to these like a bee to honey.

Sure enough this baby’s out but it’s doable and on general principle I started to but it was getting late and I really wanted to show her the Shrine.

The Shrine on Ridge Road.

Almost home, one of our other (non related) daughters, was heading back to D.C. so we “had to” see her before she left.

Whether we ever do something like this again doesn't matter, we had a ball and its 9 hours we'll remember for the rest of our lives.

Awesome time with your daughter. Looks like you have a lot of ancestral history there.
