New one looks crap without the screen imho. With screen it looks better than I expected. Don't really like the new logo but that's only minor, like the black footrests etc.
However only some cosmetical changes, no mention of ABS......strange.
But seeing that this is announced by some as the 2012 Street, I believe Triumph will announce the ABS version late 2011....as the 2013 Street.

I definitely agree regarding the screen. Looks more finished with it.

What do you think of the new color? Purple.

I like the color purple, but not really for a motorcycle.
Not a fan of the new headlights either.

As an aside, I liberated my Striple today around a giant snowdrift that I have been waiting to melt. I popped the battery in and she started with a roar on the first thumb of the button. God, I missed her.

i got in about 50 miles today. I have to say that I absolutely love this bike. Riding it is a religeous experience. Fan-F'ing-tastic!

I agree, the Visor over the lights is nearly a necessity now. You could get away with not having it before, but these new lights just need it for some reason. It just doesn't look quite right without it.

Got in about 250 miles on Sunday and am now finally ready for the first service.... Thinking once the service is done that I might have to "ignore" the recommended break-in procedure - This thing is begging to be run up

Anyone go from a Speed Triple to a Street Triple? I'm interested in the new Street R (especially the 2011 in black with gold rims), but I'm coming from a Speed Triple. How does the Street compare for commuting, canyon scratching and short (~100 mi) two-up rides?

By the way, the other bikes I'm checking out are the Griso 8v, Monster, Hypermotard or Tiger.

Love me some Griso 8v...as far as the Streety goes the handling is better than the Speed Triple by leaps and bounds. Just so much lighter. 2-up, I couldn't comment as I never ride with a passenger. You will miss the torque of that 1050 but the 675 is no slouch.

Did anyone catch the latest issue of Cycle World? They did a middleweight shootout between the Street Triple R, the F800R, the FZ8, the Monster 796 and I think something else that I'm now forgetting. Upshot being that the Triumph came out as the unanimous favorite due to its all-around awesomeness and excellence. Go Triumph!

Hi, I've just picked up an ex-demo 2010 Street Triple. It comes with the belly pan and fairing thing, as part of an end-of-range promotion.

All so far, so good then.

Unfortunately, it also comes with radiator shrouds which have been painted in the same lurid green as the rest of the bike.

I no likey.

I tried to remove the shrouds, but this seems impossible without finding somewhere else to mount the front indicators. Has anyone else attempted this and, unlike me, found a solution?

I found a thread on another forum where a guy managed to mount the turn signals in the frame farther back from the OEM position. Looked good, however I think the radiator without the shrouds looks pretty poor (unfinished or something). Triumph sells some smaller shrouds that look good (and are black). You might think about those instead.

The Street Triple R seems to be the bike I've been looking for. At 6'4", thinking it might be too small. Hope to get a chance to ride it at the Triumph Demo day next weekend.
