No shit? Where do I get a pump like that in the background if that's what you use? What ratio of water/sg/soap?

That video is funny. If only I could of understood more of the brits words but I know what he meant when he cracked the throttle and the induction sound kicked it. That was my impression and what sold me on the bike. Love it.

Is that a matte finish? I've always read that dishsoap will strip the wax right off a regular clear-coat paint job....

I would not use soap on plastics

Had an old ragtop and the roof was like new owner said never use soap on plastic it dries it out. I had it ten years and roof was still sweet when I sold her. On my Street I just use spray clean and polish and, water with a clean micro fiber cloth on the seat. 30000.+ she looks new less a few scrapes. Lets see in another seven years how the look...

You're probably right and I will take that into consideration.

Right now I spray-foam a mixture of water, Meguiar's Deep Crystal Car Wash, a dab of mild dish soap(foam enhancement) & compressed air.

I spray foam, let sit for about a minute
Rinse(similar to a low pressure shower)
Damp dry with a Chamois
Wipe & Shine with "Yamalube Spray Polish & Instant Detailer" and a microfiber applicator pad.

There it is... My deep dark secrets, for the world to scrutinize.

I'm contemplating using WD-40 on the wheels and I'm also considering a pre-soak like "Bug Squash". It seems better if the soap/water is lifting/rinsing the dirt and grime, instead of me to "wiping" the dirt/grime across the paint/finish.

Thx...nlp

i'm pretty pleased with Quick Wax after regular washings and the Instant Detailer stuff between washings to knock the dust off without scratching. so far, not a single scratch on the phantom black finish.

One of my many failings, is I buy motorcycles to ride, not look at. That said, I'm purposefully more attentive to the StRiple, because it's so good looking. Last week, a few miles from home, I got caught out in a rain storm that included some pea size hail. I liked to passed out just from the anxiety.

My '06 BMW on the other hand looks well worn but what would expect after 61K commuter, off-road & Starbucks miles.
