Yo! JD!!

What's up?!

...that trailer house next to an old farm house is pretty common around the appalachians you know. Cheaper to just plop it down next door than to try and repair and/or heat and cool one of those big old drafty places, I suppose.

Hi, my name is 'banjo and I have a picture takin' problem.

Thought that I could go for a little ride today and not take any pics, didn't even bring a camera along while out running errands with the bike.

Phone pic of my neighbor making hay while the sun is shining.

I rode to work this morning keeping an eye looking out for the moon to pop out between trees before it set. Didn't really catch anything great.....hand held point-n-shoot from atop a running bike.

I can see the old wagons pulling into the barn to load and unload. What a great picture.

Yeah, and just wait until tonight.... actual perigee (closest point) will be at 11:35PM EST. I may even have to dust off one of the telescopes and put the lunar filter in to honor the occasion. Weather forecast looks pretty good for tonight.

Almost everynight. And my scopes are getting dusty also...

Yeah, even though the moon will be closest to us around midnite it will actually appear bigger on the horizons at moonrise and set. So my best chances to try again will likely be on my ride to work early in the AM, that early start should have me in bed long before midnite too!

Yesterday afternoon late my wife and I were actually home at the same time. So we took the old school street bikes out for a little spin. No pics, (crazy talk, I know) but I found this freshly baled hay field irresistible and rode back past it again today.

As you can see there's a few clouds in the area here that may interfere with moon watching tonight as well.

Moto content.

I just took a look at the picture I managed to get on my cell phone. I wouldn't insult all photographers or even anyone with a camera by posting that mess.

That's never stopped me!!!

Unfortunately it was overcast here last night at moonrise....and again this morning at moonset.

I did ride a bike to work and bring a camera anyway....and what do ya know, about 1/2 way in it decided to peek through the clouds for just a couple of minutes....

Never did get to see it all big and fat on the horizon though.

Now that I look at the pictures, I am not even sure that is not the flash reflecting in the windshield! What looks like a tire track in the snow, is the defroster vent on my truck!
And I can offer no explanation on the second one.

Thats pretty good for a quick shot! You got focus and you can tell it is our moon!
