Thanks guys!

After doing some yard work today my wife surprised me by asking if her old XR250L still ran. We've had opposite schedules for a couple of years now and her bikes sit for weeks at a time...

I got it out of the shed and got it fired up, aired up and away we went....with out my camera.

But I did have my cell phone so here's a couple of shots from our little local spin.

Apple Rd is starting look a little bit more like it should this time of year.

She has her own old school street ride too, but she doesn't like to ride very far on her own. We've taken several big trips two up on that old XS11 I have but she hates that little V-Strom!

This was taken in New England 7 or so years ago...

Hi gnuse and iDave

Thanks for the kind words that disappeared?!

Sometimes I wish that I could read or write more than a sentence or two at a time....

But I'm just too ADD I guess, so clogging the world's bandwidth with tons of mediocre pics is the schtick I'll have to stick with!

I prolly should spread them out over more posts though as I can't even check this thread from my mobile!!

Another try...... too bad iDave had "drivel" deleted because IMHO he never writes drivel, in fact his writings are inspiring and cause one to actually think about his RR efforts in ADV.

I am still enjoying your rides and have found that I have no need for a camera as you seem to ride places I ride and you take great pictures. Then there are the places that you ride and photograph that I haven't been to and now I want to go there.....some day we will meet up no doubt. Oh, and that picture with the Vetter fairing, Krauser bags, taken "7 or so years ago", not sure about the real time frame but cool stuff.

Nah, that's a fairly new vineyard just South of Fallston, NC. I posted a more current pic of it early on in this thread (end of post #14)...it was started as a "retirement job" on an old family farm. It's owner adopted a couple of German Shepherds that my wife had fostered and that's why she wanted to ride up there that day.

There's some more pics of it in a ride report I did back in Dec '06 called Gorges' Day!

Hey you're back!

Thanks

iDave's reports and pics are second to none! (but he does like to delete stuff) and I caught you both that time!

In fact my wife and I met Dave in a traffic jam in Little Rock on I-40 back in '06 while we were on way home from a 3 week 8,500 mile trip on that old relic!! I was a registered lurker here on ADV at the time but had not yet even made my first post. My first post was in his ride report of that trip and he's the one that "pushed me over the edge" so to speak and encouraged me to do one of my own.

So there you have it...it's all Dave's fault that you're reading this!

p.s. click "the banjo rides" link in my sig...ride's # 1) & 2) were two up on that old XS.

Hey man!! I'm still waiting for that new clutch for my DR650 to come in.

I need to get up your way for a thumper ride before it's too cold to go outside!
.....that silly little V-Strom has been stealing all my seat time so far this year. It somehow survived our little ride down the CDT in July though, didn't it?

Ditto, on both counts.

Kev, seems like you pass through my 'hood all the time. That "Creamline Dairy" is just a few minutes away. Maybe we'll ride together again someday.

Hey Stobie!

I was just trying to remember...has it really been almost 4 years since we rode together?

Yeah, at least. I haven't been getting out as much as I used to. Most of my recent riding is unstructured solo stuff. Work and family can make things complicated.

I love that "road" in the above pic. Haven't been up that way in a while.
