The 'zuks will be on standby year round though and hopefully ready to ride.

...but this bike will be put away for the winter in just another week or two.

The er we get the more we get.

Ooooooh look at the pretty top case.

The wind began to pick up as the day wore on.....

This road is usually clogged in parade traffic on a Sunday...but not today.

That's probably not good news for the road side vendors though.....

Best pic of the day....is a pic of a painting.

This is probably the last we'll see of fall colors in this area.

Please keep our fellow inmate FLYING EYEBALL in your thoughts and prayers as he can use them....his condition was on my mind heavy today after reading this last night. There's more info on facebook if you know him personally...

I think that I may have gotten my ride and yard work days mixed up as it was sunny and warm all day today.

Spent most of the day dealing with leaves..in the gutters and covering the ground, bad part is that it will have to be done again 2 or 3 more times.

The leaves were finished before dark so the old DR was fired up for a quick run to warm the oil before changing it .....and take me to some food.

Hadn't planned on taking any pics but this stop in town was irresistible so the phone had to step into duty today.

Need a new bike?

...those banana seats bring back the memories....

Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics but, they are what they are......it's about a mile back to the house from here....

Hey Kevin.... I passed through Clover the other day and took a few pics of this... Can you tell me what it used to be? What company was this and what did they make here?

Oh and by the way I picked up a DR650 so we'll have to go find some dirt one of these days..

That's what's left of one of the old textile mills in town....all those jobs have left the country, you know....

Not sure what company ran that particular one off hand...I'd have to ask around.

Textiles, both the spinning of yarn and the weaving of fabrics used to a big part of the local economy..as well as the making of garments but about all that's done in the area now is the distribution of imports.

I posted a little about that place last winter......on a ride on my old DR650 no less.

Most of the local textile mills have been fenced off and abandoned.

Although many of those textile have left the country, immigrant restaurants abound.

Why only 1/2 of this mill was torn down is beyond me.

If you're interested the other 1/2 is available.

I'm not sure how easy it would be to evict the pigeons though.

All work an no ride makes 'banjo a grumpy boy.

I tried to remedy that this afternoon but colors of autumn have been replaced with winter's bone gray.......

Black and white and gray........mild temps but still felt like winter was only a day away....

It felt good to ride......but I didn't feel like riding very far.....

The last of the pecans were being gleaned from this orchard.....

It was just as well that it wasn't a 'pretty' day....as pretty just didn't seem to interest me anyway....

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity on the old textile mill. Sad but interesting. And I too would wonder why they'd tear down half but leave the other half standing.

I love the other pictures as usual. The B&W shots are a nice touch. Well done, Mr. Banjo.

Just going for a ride, even if it's a short one always seems to put a little bit of color back into my life.

...sometimes it's just a little...

Yeah, I guess somber is a fair way to describe it...everything is OK with me...too many bad things have happened to those I know lately.

But enough of that....let's just blame 257bob for the idea of shed, shack and shanty hunting.

Sometimes this is as close as is comfortable for snooping around an old building...

I took a thermos of coffee with me and took a little break down at 99 island.

That's a heck of a spillway when water is all the way across it.
