Well it's been a little over a month since my dad, Tomo Cummings was killed. One day at a time is how it's going. I'm still riding everyday and still planning to do the North Carolina portion of the BRP. My brother has now expressed interest in going so it looks like it will be the two of us this summer some time. Thanks for all the support.

Thanks for the update.

Have fun on your ride, and remember you are still in all of our thoughts.

Godspeed Tomo.

My mom is 80. We took her keys 4 years ago. She finally agrees it was the right thing. Loss of independence is a very hard thing, too bad this woman did not have family that cared enough.

However if you get a chance take the money. Her family and friends will learn more that way.

There are disabled people, such as this fellow that would appreciate the help.

Give to the Salvation Army. The homeless shelters. You get the idea.

Turn tragedy into something good.

Hi All,

Have been lurking again for a while. Just thought I would update you to what has been going on. Well we went to court and yes she had to re-test for the driving test and take a physical as well. She passes and is still on the road. I wont go into details of much else. It seems to me that if you want to kill someone in NC just make sure they are riding a motorcycle and you turn left into them. Once more has been resolved I will post a more detailed update. Thanks ADV friends. Devin

Belated condolences for your loss.

This is my biggest fear on the bike. You can have the best training, the best bike, the best protective gear and the fastest reflexes and still be done in by the dreaded "left hook".

Peaceful wishes to you Devin.
See all the legal stuff through to its conclusion, then put it behind you and focus on the good memories.
Enjoy your ride with your brother.

Regards,

Not a Bible thumper, but two verses jumped into my mind:

Ecc 9:11 "chance happeneth to all men"

Rom 8:28 "all things work together for the good"

These two have gotten me through some bad times, cancer, injuries, etc... Looking back years later, I can see the good that eluded me during those bad times. Take the time to make that trip and remember your dad.
