Wear whatever fashion and common sense dictates to you but there have been a couple of cases here in the Bay area recently, wherein people wearing those crap-caps have died after pretty minor falls and you know what? They're still dead!

Theres a reason why those helmets are sold in the US as "novelty items and not approved for use while riding motorcycles"

I am kidding about the toilet bowl......but will get something appropriate....id love to have a new Bell 500 with a visor and a nice set of goggles....The spares aren't for sale btw.

Had a '71 R50/5 back in the old country and now a R60/5 with 750 jugs, heads and carbs:

Ooops, sorry for the large iomage.

I always had to push the R50/5 as its 500cc and 27/34 horses really struggle with the weight. The 750 is a well balanced motorcycle that allows you 10hrs of riding on any given day day, comfortably. My then 69yr old Dad did 4000mls in 10 days around Ontario on it.

It has character and will serve you well. For a nearly 40yr old bike and compared with other vintage bikes, maintenance is simple and affordable and you can utilize the bike as your daily rider.

Go for it.

I'll third that notion. The bottom end of the engine is the same, and although it doesn't have the cubes and output of a larger displacement engine it's still more than adequate in power. No receding valves. No self-destructing five speeds. No problematic hydraulic brakes-- properly adjusted the front drum will lock the wheel and last forever. Frame/suspension is the basically same as the newer models-- shocks and damping may be "improved" but the handling is adequate.
