ALREADY SOME PEOPLE TOLD ME THEY CANNOT SEE FULL PICTURES.
Please send me a PM if you also can't see full pictures. If I get at least 1 or 2 PMs I will have to do something because it's useless :( I use imageshack.us, maybe it's time to find something different? |

No problem here with seeing your beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing your trip and pictures with us. I had an XT500 in '78. One of the most fun bikes I've ever had.

Day 19 Ok, so it's time to leave Irkutsk and go to Ulan Ude. It means that if nothing goes wrong - tomorrow I will enter Mongolia, weeeeeeeeeeeee Before I left we had a photo-session with Olga - hostel administrator. She said my bike was beautiful! So here is Olga. I nearly fell in love. ![]() And this is me. ![]() Pretty soon it started raining and it was pretty cold. It is important to assure yourself that everything is good. ![]() Pity it's raining. Road itself is very nice to ride. ![]() |

Now few words about food. Almost every single day I ordered the same food. It tasted unbelievably good!! Remember: "borschtsch, katlyeta s kartoshkamee, khlyeb, pameedoree ee goortze"
I learned that phrase so maybe I even looked like a local? Anyway, trust me it tastes fantastic!! Not even mentioning when it's cold outside. ![]() Landscapes suddenly change pretty much after passing Baikal. Plus sometimes you get cool clouds. ![]() Distance: 492km |

Excellent posting, you are proving " when there's a will-there's a way"What does the phrase mean "borschtsch, katlyeta s kartoshkamee, khlyeb, pameedoree ee goortze", hopefully its a California Burrito ala Mongolian style. What is your secret exercises, is it "klapsy swoim małpa" hahaha, just sulphur. Is it difficult posting during your travels ? Thanks for your great sense of humor and travels, take care, thanks

Day 20 At night it was so cold that it woke me up. Damn. It never happenned to me before. Anyway, so now I've got around 200km to Mongolian border. It was pretty nice with not always the best road. Going to Kyakhta - last city in Russia. Border was a nice surprise it took only about 1 hour 20 minutes on russian side and about 1 hour on mongolian side. So we are in Mongolia, weeeeeeeeee ![]() Honestly, first kilometres in Mongolia suck. Industry area and stuff. Bleagh. So let's get fast to Ulaan Baatar. ![]() Met two guys form UK on their trip around the world!! ![]() And some landscapes.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I don't have local currency (tugrik) but in one shop they allowed me to pay in rubels. What first caught my eye was that SO MANY people were buying vodka. Young ones, old ones, men, women.. everyone.. depressing.I rode a bit at night so that tomorrow I could be in Ulaan Baatar as fast as possible. There were some dogs in the area where I built my tent. Suddenly two of them started running at me. Fock!! But they just wanted to have fun and get something to eat. Distance: 348km |

Day 21 Plan is simple: get to Ulaan Baatar, find cheap accomodation and safe place for my bike and spend there some days. I took gas in Kyakhta (Russia), don't have tugriks and at gas station they do not want to accept rubels. Sulfur. So I keep going to Ulaan Baatar and simply hope I will have enough gas to do that. Short meeting with a local biker. ![]() Weeeeee, I made it to UB! I ran out of fuel in UB suburbs, when I was right next to a gas station. ![]() Someone exchanged me 10USD, so I could take gas. Went into centre of the city, exchanged some USD in bank, found a cheap hostel, put my bike in hopefully safe place and was ready to spend here some days. I hope I will survive it somehow because if I spend more than 1 night at the same place I became pretty nervous I also met again guys from Spain I met some days ago. Unfortunatelly they had a problem with KTM. Distance: 199km |
