My first ride and still my daily "around town" bike. 1975 Kawasaki G4TR.
(the PBR's only there for added traction in the snow, I drink real beer)

I was 10 years old in 1979, when my father bought this brand new Yamaha DT125MX (for him). And it was on this bike that I learned to ride (how to use a gear box).
From 14 to 18, I had a Motobecane 49,9 cc moped, 41V model, like that :

Then at the age of 18, when I got my car and bike driving licences, I sold the moped, and my father gave me his Yamaha, because he was hardly ever using it.
This is a 1987 picture, at 18, with my DT125 MX. The friend with me owns a 4 stroke Suzuki DR 125. Together, we took a ferry from St Malo, and went visiting the isle of Jersey, it was my very first trip on a bike.

Later, I gave it back to my father when I bought my '89 750 Super Tenere, then my 1340 Road King that I will keep till the end.
Now that my father has passed away, I still have this bike, and for sure, I could never sell it. Here's the picture I made last spring, at the same place (my parent's yard) 24 years later.

I guess I'm like many others here, wish i still had it. Never had any problems with it, regular maintaince and gas. Great bike

1980 Yamaha MX80 with lots of good memories. I think that front fender lasted all of one ride.

I don't have any pictures of me on my first bike since I'm my own camera man, but here's my first bike that I purchased in November of 2010. It was a 2010 Ninja 250r that I bought with < 1 mile on the clock. I put 1500 miles on it in the two months I had it before it was stolen.

bought this off a guys back porch for $200. it had been sitting for at least 3 years on the porch. got a clean title and it only had 1300 miles on it. pushed it across the parking lot to my work and yanked the carb. cleaned the jets with some carb kleen. threw it back together with some fresh gas and it fired up on the 4th kick. it now had just over 3K on it.

Is it a 500 Special ? We don't see well the capacity because it's a bit blurred just at that point. What year was it ? I didn't know 500 had had a kick. I passed my driving licence in 1988 on the same, but with an electric starter. Great souvenirs.
