Well, it's not me but it is the only shot that I could locate. My sister is sitting on the 1972 Yamaha 125 that I bought new at the age of 13. I later sold the bike to my brother for $40.00. We definitely got our money out of this classic.

1986 Suzuki Intruder VS700 (new to me in 2010). Learned more than I ever intended about maintenance by trying to undo all the neglect. My first task was getting rid of the god awful straight pipes. Damn thing was so loud I contemplated shutting the engine off and apologizing to everyone at stop lights.

I finally realized that cruisers are not my thing (No lean!) and moved up to a Honda Pacific Coast this year.

I saw the handle bars sticking out of the mud knocked on the door and asked if I could have them? Guy said if I came back the next day with a shovel there was a whole motorcycle attached to the handle bars

While this thread might not be specifically for my demographic, here is the first bike that I purchased, and then learned how to ride.

My first bike was an '05 Yamaha TW200 that I got from a co-worker. It wasn't fast to be sure, but it was great fun for learning to safely ride. I put a Cycleracks rack on it, and a tank from an XT350 to improve the range. It killed me to sell it, but I'm loving the '07 V-Strom I traded it in for!

This was not anywhere close to my first bike, but it was my first bike I got to ride on the road. A 1976 KZ400 S2, completely stock and original, kick-start only, no center stand, drum brakes. It was fairly reliable, and I was able to get it started down to 15 degrees. This was my only transportation for the first 9 months after I got my license. Picture is from 2009.
