Doc go and get a green peice of She Oak (Casuarina) take off the bark and splinter the wood. Then add it to the coals to give the meat a fantastic flavour.
Although I have only used wood coals to cook with this way.

In the case of my Son, yes, from contact. Life threatening - he has to carry an epi-pen.

When they were doing all the tests at the hospital they informed us that a LOT of people are allergic to Casuarina.
It can be a real pain as they seem to grow everywhere. (especially here in Canberra). I am hopeful that he is outgrowing the allergy as his face and hands don't seem to puff up when the pollen is around as much any more.
Will get some more tests done next year to see how he is going.

Don't shoot... It's only me!
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.

Wow thats serious stuff. Its actually a bush medicine and we have used it in the smokers on all sorts of meat for many years. If really thirsty the green seeds can be stripped and sucked to generate your saliver glands and fool you into thinking your no longer thirsty. They taste a bit crook though but it works.
I will have to remember your advice next time the bludgers come around to eat my roast.
