there is plenty in history to support the fact that whites didn't blindly discard everything.

what the whites mainly did do was provide a catalyst to destroy the culture by empowering the youth, the rest of what occurred pretty much is a given thereon, their culture rapidly disintegrated.

i assume given your lent you've probably read the fatal shore. i don't overly subscribe to what he proposes within that book.

which is, no doubt, why its called the aussie off topic chat thread.

James simply, if I feel it belongs in CS&M or HE the local forum could loose, its off-topic thread and although I was originally opposed to it it seems to have its place.
So let it have more of a general muck about theme, rather than a CS&M theme.
If you an Lee want to continue and others get involved it could soon spiral out of control.

Your choice.

correct me if i am wrong but what you are actually trying to tell me it is your choice and if we dont conform to your 'expectations' you want to move it.

we have tons of threads complaining about state, about the latest govt moves etc yet they seem to exist here happily enough.

out of curiousity, russ, what raises you ire in the noted posts? is it wrong to discuss history in an ot thread?

Sorry Russ - I don't get your intention - this thread has tackled many different topics and many of those topics could have had a Church, State or Money bent to them - why was our discussion any different. James and I were civil, polite, respectful and curious as to the others point of view. We are adults, capable of carrying on a conversation with varying opinions without spiralling out of control.

that is what this thread is for

Last night it could have easily taken a different direction and I did not want it to go there.

I did not want the discussion about a link between multi vitamins and breast cancer becoming a discussion about treatment of aboriginals buy early settlers.
Because some of the comments on this site about indigenous Australians in the past have been quite frankly racist, and I for one don't like it.

There is already doubt about the study that Lee quoted see link
So why don't we let the experts work out weather there is indeed a link. I hope its not so, taking vitamins was never meant to make any one ill.

Even in Jo Momma they have a separate section for CS&M, and I don't want to see that develop in the Oz forum.

If you think I was out of line thats OK.

I'm new to this, and can only try and do the right thing, and I'll probably make a few bad calls along the way, I figure its better that way than to hit the button without thought.
