MY Girl goes to the Gynecologist

Chasey goes to the doctor for a checkup every 11K

Swan Point, MD / 250 Miles Traveled

I scheduled Chasey for a checkup at Morton’s BMW a while back.

We arrived at Morton's (B) 20 minutes before her 9AM appointment; I took off her “excess baggage” and she was first in line to see the doc. The nurse was real helpful explaining the procedures being done; like an engine, rear-wheel drive, and gearbox oil change. Also the air and oil filter, spark plugs, and belts. Lastly, they checked brakes for wear, cables, fluid levels, and electrical. Wow, Chasey is getting the full service treatment today.

I made myself at home; set up my computer, plugged in my blackberry, and got a cup a Joe.

Over the next 5 hours, I checked on Chasey periodically and got some work done. This is the disclaimer; some folks may find the following photos offensive, this is your warning. Here are some shots of her without her covers and shaft open.

And the parts you see below needed to be changed out.

One of the coolest parts of Morton’s other than the great service and really customer oriented staff are the bikes and pictures of bike stuff. Here are a few.

Well it was time to put the "excess baggage" back on Chasey and head to the other side of the Potomac. I decided to take 218 which is a real scenic ride and see if the doctor really fixed her.

Yup, she is fit as a fiddle so it was time for a late lunch (C) and then a trip to visit my friend Drew.

Honestly, everything is relative... much rather have them find a problem during service than me on the side of the road cursing at Katie or Chasey because I don't know what the hell is wrong and missed something during a self service. Wow that didn't come out right

Subject change...Thanks for the additional photos of CHII. Very memorable camp out and your family Rocks! I am already looking forward to next years... As usual we will be SMIBing along

Wow, that is the most intellectual comment I have ever heard! Please keep sharing!

I, for one, appreciate a good ride for service! Have to ride a minimum of 250 miles to reach a dealer & enjoy every moment.

Did they lube the splines on her final drive?
I've found that to be the most intimate part of maintenance.

Q~

That looks like my red650 on display over the white wall. What the heck, a 99 is not old enough to be on the old lady display! Nice shop nun the less.
