Amigos, I took this picture in Pochutla, Oaxaca last week just after paying 2 pesos at the PEMEX to use the bathroom. I cracked up and immediately remembered this thread. Awesome.

You're very very close. "Being 'ghetto' is cool" It's something something that someone who is comfortable poking fun at himself or his bike would say. Goes good with an old, beat up bike, as in the photo example.

In an inverse sense, Naco can also be used to describe someone who is trying to look or act like someone they're not, someone trying to be "cool" or someone who has a lot of money.

I wanted to post a picture of the old lady I saw begging outside the Bentley dealers in Polanco .... sadly she wasn't there this morning when I went back to take her picture
