Maine coast in November
Beautiful day yesterday, Jerry and I headed down to Route 1 to do a little exploring. Stayed on the pavement cause of hunting season.
1st stop Lamoine: Lobster traps being pulled out ![]() cool buggy at Lamoine state beach ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then to Marlboro beach ![]() ![]() ![]() hmmm, looks tempting to ride over there! ![]() why not? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() yep, that was fun! ![]() cute house that we rode by ![]() not sure where this is, but pretty! ![]() then on to Sorrento: my bike enjoying the view ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() getting to be halfway through the day at this point so plotted a route home- only have one pic 'cause of no places to pull over, but very pretty, fun twisty roads up route 200 and 179 past hills and blueberry fields and lakes ![]() then flew down the airline (rt 9). Stopped at the eagles nest since we had been too busy having fun to have lunch view from the eagles nest (Penobscot river) ![]() and yummy lobster roll ![]() then headed home, arriving just as the sun was going down over the horizon! fun day, but way too short- missing the longer summer days!

Schoodic is indeed an AWESOME site to visit... havne't been through on a bike yet, just the pedal variety. used to do the loop on mountainbikes when i was in highschool.. 12 miles, take us about 3 hours or so (including stops for scenery/etc)... it's REALLY awesome when there is a storm coming in, the waves are BREATHTAKING. -Nate

Ranier_Rider- hopefully someday will be sooner rather than later! MacGyver- have not been as far south as Georgia to ride- but assume you have some great riding there as well!

Is this normal weather for the coast of Maine in mid-November? I would expect rain mixed with snow and howling winds out of the NE.
